English test
Today we had an english test that was pretty easy/confusing? I don't even know... The first and last parts were the most confusing as there were more than one option that could fill the blank. Other than than, I think I got an at least decent mark on the test. Hopefully the other one is easier...
Today we played games in class because it was “unplugged day” meaning we had no internet.
First, we played a word game boys vs girls+james (We had a competition for who had James and I won so he had to go to our team) and sadly, girls lost.
The we played the assasin game and it was very entertaining and I hope we play again soon.
Things got sooo intense in this one, honestly, one of the coolest and must fun days we've had in english class. I really loved this. The assasin game was the absolute best.
Ps. My back still hurts from carrying my team in the word game
Cute newborn cat in school, she's pretty cool and loving. Though, I dont have a name for her
About a week ago it was my birthday. Im oficially almost legal (woo). Honestly, it was the best, spent it with the best people and had a blast.
Daria in English class
It´s 8:32 am I´m in English class right now and I´m watching ¨Daira¨ (one of my favourites series). We are going to have the words challenge in a few minutes and I´m here watching my serie and I Know like 5 words but I really don´t care because I´m really really tired of school and of this class, I just want to graduated from school and go to the university and to travel and know the world and do something good for the world instead of learning some definitions of the act 2 of Othello, sorry Mr.J if your reading this but this is really pathetic.
I wonder why’d you post this on here, you could get “jolopeada” (Mind the word as it was necessary), don’t risk losing points in either participation or conduct(?).
Nonetheless I know how much you love Daria and I find it amazing you got through in class with it.
I think it's fine she says it, we are all going through the same IB program and want to get it over with. Im 100% sure jaison understands it. And well, nobody would "jolopearla"? If that's even how you say it. Either way, it's understandable
Oh how I miss the beach these days where we live in 4c and knee deep in projects :(
A cool lava lamp Gerardo showed to me while I was supposed to be in religion class. It was 100% worth it, soooo cool
Second Word Contest of Othello
As I stand here, writing this, I remembered this’ll be the last activity I do with my old Gryffindor group, and I can admit it was a pretty good group, really efficient and fast-paced while working. Gonna miss it (Hence why I used the power of democracy so we’d have our old groups)
So (mind the camera quality just so ya’ all know), my group was second, and we got some easy words, and some hard ones (a.k.a. the points we lost). What was the funniest thing of the activity was how we were all cheering on each other as a huge team, English A.
Huge props to Slytherin Neo-Hufflepuff, who came in strong with a 7 word streak after having missed the first one, nicely done mates!

FINALLY THE NEO HUFFLEPUFF GLORY ARISES, NOW ONWARD ON TO WORLD DOMINATION!!!!1
Killer Queen, a song by Queen on Spotify
@axndl, sometimes I ask myself, could I listen to something else other than Killer Queen? Then a random palid, pink, humanoid cat appears.
(This was necessary)
Well, you had to, te og meme of killer queen. Btw, how is your obsession going? I got kinds tired of the song after the 59th time you played it to me 😂
Existential Crisis
So, fellow high schoolers, classmates, friends, whatever or whoever you are, what actually is an existential crisis? well according to my most trusted source urban dictionary it is: A deep, obsessive concern with unanswered questions about the meaning of life and existence, resulting in the disruption of one’s daily life and characterized by long or short-lasting bouts of apathy and depression.
Existential Crisis’s include the EXITING topics of…: -The inevitability of death -The crushing loneliness of realizing all humans inherently are and will die alone -The absurd meaninglessness of the universe and as far as we know there is no reason or purpose for human existence
Im quite sure most of us have had some sort of existential crisis at some point, I mean we’re in high school, and not any high school, its IB nightmare Babeque. So, just so you guys know, im here for you if you want to discuss any philosophical, sad or even morbid existential crisis question you might be going through.
Oh and, http://www.memecenter.com/search/existential%20crisis
Your Welcome
Daaamn My God, Cristina… “IB nightmare Babeque”, I surely believe at this moment, IB is a crippling depression tool. Regarding the inevitability of death, I recently watched a very interesting video regarding the first inmortal cells in humans, I believe anyone struggling with that might get a light from it.
Before I forget, you’re*.
Yeah, we've all been there 1:00 AM, lomakina's homework, marijose's reading and art's notebook still on your mind. You start to question whether it's worth it or not to keep going, start asking yourself if you'll really become someone one day, and many many sad things that no human being should go through, of course , in ib they don't expect humans, they expect cyborgs who are supossed to have a social life, do many, MANY CAS hours, do homework, pay atention in class, sleep well, be healthy, do exercise, work, read about absolute everything and ALL that while maintaining your danm sanity and trying not to get a heart attack over stress. Sigh, I'm done
Reading strategies
Here are the reading strategies that i found most helpful to comprehend and analyze a text completely
1. Previewing: Learning about a text before really reading it.
It helps people understand a text better because you get background knowledge. You can see the head-notes and introductory material, skim the text and do a little bit of research.
2. Contextualizing: Placing a text in its historical, biographical, and cultural contexts.
If you contextualize a text you can comprehend better the intentions of the author and his ideologies when he wrote it, that way you can see why certain thinks are written in a certain way
3. Questioning to understand and remember: Asking questions about the content.
Each question should focus on a main idea, not on illustrations or details, and each should be expressed in your own words, not just copied from parts of the paragraph.
4. Outlining and summarizing: Identifying the main ideas and restating them in your own words.
Outlining reveals the basic structure of the text and summarizing creates a brief more synthesize version of the text, with only the main ideas. Outlining may be part of the annotating process, or it may be done separately (as it is in this class). The key to both outlining and summarizing is being able to distinguish between the main ideas and the supporting ideas and examples.
5. Evaluating an argument: Testing the logic of a text as well as its credibility and emotional impact.
You should question the content of the text, its source, its validity and the author credibility.
6. Comparing and contrasting related readings

Slytherin’s research for reading strategies
These are ways to make your reading easier, as we all know, we read a lot in ib clases, so im sure you can make use of this.
This a terrible joke, why peters, why did you do this... Actually cracked me up, pretty good, 10/10

My portfolio proposal
I plan on doing a portfolio divided by evalution and then inside of each evaluation by type of exercise (essay, opinion, reflexion, etc). It will be designed will all my favorite things in mind, but formal enough so it look like school work.
Essay Reflection
When writing you need you need to take into account many things, the way you print it out, the aesthetics, organization, the font and color, the size and spacing of everything along more thing, but over everything, you need to follow instructions. Following instructions may be hard if you already have a way of doing things that you like and it’s personalized, but the best way of knowing if you are following instructions is making a checklist and going along with it, checking one of the requirements every time you complete an individual one. But you always need to check if you’re completing the requirements, so you meet your own expectations and the teacher’s expectations as well. Among other things that you need to take into account is the reader's sight, if the text is justified, if the sides of the pages are evenly distributed, the indents and last but not least, citing your sources. If you don’t cite your sources, your work can be classified as not yours and not be verified and nullified, making you work basically for nothing. All the other aspects you have to take into account are basically for aesthetic purposes, to make it easier for the reader to understand and see the text. If we take into account all of these aspects, the writing process may become easier, and we will me with the expectations we were supposed to reach right from the beginning. This will help us in the future when we need to turn in more serious assignments and help us learn the way things are supposed to be turned in and to follow instructions.
So sadly, we didn’t follow instructions and had to do this reflection to know what things you’re supposed to know while writing, I think we learned...
