But I must confess, I must confess, for every single ex I want the best. I really wish you nothing but success, I know it’s gonna work out.
Honestly though. You don’t always have to show who you are to be who you are. Do it for yourself and let other people think what they want to think.
— a simple rule that I’ve lived by that has kept me sane.
We try so hard to be understood, that we forget to be understanding
I’m up in the woods, I’m down on my mind. I’m building a still, to slow down the time.

So I was watching the show “Black Mirror” the other day…
It’s scary knowing that acceptance and validation from society is what makes some people whole. In high school and a little after that, I used to think that having the flyest outfit, keeping up with all the new trends, music and showing that you knew what was going on was what made you “cool”.
I’m glad I strayed away from that state of mind and learned to enjoy life more off the screen and just be me. I still enjoy social media but I’m glad I’ve limited my use and updates on a number of sites I used to go on every single day - but I mean I don’t feel the need to constantly show or tell people how I keep up with the trends. It’s about the face-to-face interactions and getting to know people on another level type of thing that matters, not necessarily always on screen.
I’ve noticed that a lot of people just want to be the same and it’s frustrating to see. Just be you, who cares what society thinks about what you HAVE to look like or what music you HAVE to be into or what things you THINK you have to be into in order to be accepted. Being the same as everyone else is lame. I think having great conversations, noticing a certain style from each person you meet, and just doing your own sh*t is what makes you “cool”.
THANK YOU GOD FOR MAKING ME THIS HAPPY, BUT THANK YOU FOR ALSO LETTING ME KNOW THAT THERE IS STILL WORK TO BE DONE.
