Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âOkay, Yea. Iâd Like that.â
âDo you have anything in mind?â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âIâd love to. Did you have anything in mind?â
âI donât really, we could just figure it out on the way.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âUm, I didnât have any actual plans. Was probably just gonna watch netflix or something.â The girl shrugged.
âWould you want to do something else? Like, with me?â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
She tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled at the girl as the waitress came to take the bill.
When she came back with the card, Astrid wrote out a tip and put her card back in her wallet. âWhat are you doing after this?â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âI mean if youâre sure.â She said softly putting her wallet away. âThank you, really.â
She smiles softly, âdonât worry about it, itâs okay.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âItâs fine, really. I have plenty saved up.â She protested
âAnd you should keep saving it. Iâve got it, really.â She took out her wallet, placing her credit card into the check booklet. âLooks like you canât pay now, what a shame.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
Becca turned slightly red again. The waitress brought over the check and Becca picked it up. âThis is on me.â She smiled
She shakes her head, âI wonât make you pay when you just told me you donât even have a job.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âYea that is true.â She laughed too. âBut for once, this is a situation I really like.â
She blushes, âme too. I really like this.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âYea, booze is what got me through it.â She chuckled as she took her last bite.Â
âAh, yes, booze. The substance that got us here in the first place.â She laughs, sipping at her water.
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âThats cool. No not at the moment. I was a waitress for a bit while I was in the states to make some extra cash, but I hated every second of it. I havenât really looked for anything since Iâve been back.â
She nods along with her, finishing her meal. âYeah, I totally get that. I was a waitress in college and the only thing that ever got me through it was the fact that Margo was a fresh new person and I needed to get money so she could live comfortably.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âYea, but now that Iâm home heâs gotta eat something other than pasta.â She took a bite of her burger. âAnd what is it you do for work?â She asked curiously.
âYeah, I understand that. Although there are many different ways to cook pasta, noodles make me bloated and get boring after a while. Iâm a secretary at a catholic school. Do you work at all?â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
Becca swallowed her food before speaking, âWell, um, Iâve been trying to get my brother to eat healthier. It seems like while I was away at school he forgot how to cook.â She giggled. âOther than that Iâve just been trying to get ready for the upcoming semester.  How about you?â
She ate as she spoke, laughing a bit, âAs long as he could make the basics, Iâm sure he was fine.â He grins, shrugging, âI havenât been up to much, Iâm keeping myself and my daughter busy until I go back to work, nothing really fun.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âWell I can believe it.â She smiled. The waitress came over with their meals, placing them in front of the girls. Becca began digging into hers.
Astrid thanks the waitress, starting to eat. âSo, um, what have you been up to? I havenât seen you in a while.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âIâd love to meet her.â Becca was sincere. She loved children. She use to babysit the neighbors kids on weekends to make a few extra bucks. âWell if sheâs anything like her mother I bet sheâs gorgeous.â
âMaybe one day.â She grins, which quickly turns into a shy smile, her cheeks flushing red again. âYeah, sheâs a real looker, just like her mother.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âI mean, fair enough.â She looked back at her hands. âHow old is your daughter, If you donât mind me asking.â
âSheâs six. Cute as a button. You should meet her one day, Iâm sure she would love you.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âAlright I wonât. Thanks again.â She blushed once more thinking about the other night. âOnce again, I âm really sorry I overstayed my welcome.â
She shakes her head, smiling, âdonât worry about it, really. I just donât want to put my daughter in to that kind of situation. She thinks so highly of me and I donât want her to have to see random people leaving, you know? But it really wasnât a problem at all.â
Lunch ||Becca + Astrid
âGuess itâll be a surprise then.â She chuckled. Becca waited till the waitress came over to take there orders. She ordered a double bacon burger and a strawberry milkshake.
Astrid orders a veggie burger with a water, handing her menu to the waitress. âOh, donât let me forget that your clothes are in the back of my car.âÂ
