What Made Me Smile This Week:
Sunday: It got dark depressingly early tonight because of the time change; however, around 8pm I thought to myself it must be getting close to 11pm, so I was delighted and surprised when the clock told me the night was still young! It made me smile.
Monday: I bought some shirts and ties to make me look more like a real, professional human. All my old ties are about two feet too long, and since I slouch when I sit, they stretch down to my feet if I don’t tuck them up which looks weird. I found some new (kids) ties that are the perfect length! It made me smile.
Tuesday: No one at my voting place treated me like a child! Major victory. It made me smile.
Wednesday: My Nana and Poppop came over for dinner tonight. We talked and laughed while we ate our healthy KFC takeout meal. Family makes me smile.
Thursday: I’ve been pre-approved for a service dog! This basically means I was just given the actual application, which is a monstrous 50 pages. I began filling it out tonight! Although the application is long, I’m glad they’re taking this level of care to ensure a good match between me and a dog. Pups make me smile.
Friday: This morning we had a speech for the PACEC, which works to improve education for children with exceptionalities. They were a great audience! After the talk, I was parched, but waiting for me at my book-signing table was the most refreshing, ice-cold glass of water that I immediately chugged. It made me smile.
Saturday: Hannah and I have been together for six months today (Sunday). In the past six months, she has shown me what it truly means to love someone without restraint. Although being a thousand miles apart isn’t always easy, we’ve already had countless adventures together and we have plans for countless more. Even when we are apart, knowing I get to wake up to text/call/skype with her makes each day an adventure in itself.
