war buddies | ayumu & lovell
@ayvmitsu
Lovell had met and fought alongside a good number of vampires during the Second War and he remembered every single one of them. He had been very young then, just barely into his forties, but it was an event that helped shape him into the person he was today. When the Japanese Councilman made his appearance at Krovs at last, Lovell was excited. He remembered Ayumu from all those years ago and remembered how much fun they had together and he wondered if the man would be down for more of the same.
That was the reason Lovell was traipsing down the Council section of the castle, hoping to catch Ayumu after one of the Council meetings ended. When the door to the Council meeting room opened and the stream of Councilmen filed out, the varcolac was craning his neck looking for his old friend.
“Ayumu!” he called out when the Japanese Councilman came into view. “How have you been? I haven’t seen you in ages! You haven’t been avoiding me, have you?”
Days in Krov went by either in seconds or an eternity, the latter being today as the blond had to attend one of their important council meetings. They had discussed the usual, the management in countries, slaves, and other such politics. It was a bore to say the least but, someone had to bear the cross of sitting through agonizing hours of old men talking about power... Ayumu himself included in the brand of old men but, excluded in a way of the term power hungry.
He’s had a millennia of bathing himself in so-called power and found himself still immune to its charms.
Four hours into the meeting and finally it was adjourned; Ayumu couldn’t help the sigh of relief leaving his lips. He massaged one of his shoulders as he walked out into the room with a goal to lock himself in his suite for the entire day. He had seen and socialized with enough people for one day.
Yet, it seems as though somebody had other plans.
The voice sounded familiar and Ayumu turned around to see Lovell. It was safe to say that the blond was definitely surprised with the meeting, even if he knew that the other was working in the castle. “It has been a few years,” He started off a smile. “Of course not!” He denied the obvious but, he wasn’t going to make a scene with all the other council members around. “I’ve just been busy locking myself in my room as usual.” It wasn’t entirely a lie but, it wasn’t the entire truth as well.
“Being with a lot of people still gets overwhelming, never really got used to it.” He starts to walk the halls with Lovell, separating themselves from the other council members. “I did plan to visit you in the clinic though,” Another lie but, the blond knew this meeting was inevitable. “ But I keep forgetting, I get distracted easily here.” In a way, Ayumu was somewhat afraid of the rumours going around the castle, ones of Lovell still doing his experiments. The blond had already washed his hands of the past and changed for the better.
He was no longer the same person as he was in the war. It was mainly the reason he had been avoiding the other. “Why did you come by the way? Did you wait long outside?”
