So the FE cipher revealed a card showing Chrom as a Risen King…
Look at this edgy ass dork lol
Reappearance; Serah/Noctis
“It…” he began quietly, “It wasn’t because of you,” he then reassured, his gaze still forced away from Serah, “I just—”
He stopped himself, he didnt want to remind himself of his decision. The choice that took away the one who gave him life. He sighed, his eyes closing momentarily as emotional thoughts began filtering in and out through his mind. His heart cowering at the remembrance of the familiar agonizing pain that had dwelled within him during all his time away from Moogletown.
“Serah, forget about me please,” he then said, his azure eyes now on Serah. He watched as her expression morphing as her despondency became more apparent, “I…you…no,” he struggled, his words now lost in his throat, “I’m sorry, you can’t—we can’t,” his hands clutched into a firm fist as persistent tears began fighting through.
“You deserve better…”
“I deserve you,” she moved closer to him and reached for the tears that had escaped his eyes, “I love you and if you want to leave me…. I’ll let you go if it means you’ll be happy.”
Her voice was monotone and she forced a sad smile across her lips, “You’ll always be in my heart and you deserve more than I could ever give you in this world or the next.”
She remembered their last moments together, curled under his arms and feeling his breath slow so that she knew he had fallen asleep. He was her lover, her friend, her protector from another world. That was their end…
“My life may end soon enough…. I would rather spare you the agony of meeting the new Serah…”
Noctis shook his head internally at every word that left Serah's mouth. She had no idea the meaning behind her sentences. He was nothing of importance in this realm. He was a prince yes, a loyal knight for his kingdom. However, titles were worthless if all he did was bring pain upon those in his life--it was inevitable. His mother passed on because of him and his father aches silently, unaware his own son was to blame. And now his people, innocent to life itself, were suffering from their protector's and prince's absence, dealing with an anguished king.
"Serah, enough," he said firstly, his tone mistakenly cruel, "You know deep down, it is I who is unworthy of you. Everyone knew it, I am nothing more than a broken prince from a withering kingdom," his eyes fell to the ground sullenly, "When you pass on, rid me from your memory just like I will with you," he nearly regretted every word that left his mouth but he didnt have the courage to take it all away.
"I will..." he paused for a moment, "I will be with Etro, settling the final score."
Reappearance; Serah/Noctis
When she reached for him, he nearly pulled back. Cringing slightly at the light touch of her fingers. He had been alone all this time, isolated by others willingly—he had nearly forgotten what it felt like to be around another. But this was, he had to remind himself, the one who he had loved before his departure, the woman who held his heart so firmly in her hands—so why this?
“I don’t know how long I plan on staying,” he confessed, his voice husky and soft as if his throat was sore, “But…” his eyes wandered elsewhere, he focused them anywhere, as long as his gaze avoided Serah’s, “You deserve an explanation.”
She did, he knew that much, and she would recieve one whether she desired it or not, “I needed to leave here. I needed to…reevaluate,” he pondered the word for a moment before nodding in acceptance of it, “Reevaluate everything.”
His words sounded more harsh than they actually were but admittedly he just wanted to be alone for a while. His thoughts and feelings kept to himself, just like back in his home world.
“Oh…. okay…” she pulled back her fingers even though they itched to caress the face that was before her.
Many nights after he left, she dreamt of his reappearance and his skin with hers and all the things he had left behind when they were together. He had practically proposed to her and yet he left and the dreams always left her calling out to him in her sleep. Mog had grown worried so he gave her ethers to sleep soundlessly and quietly.
“I… ” she had no words because she didn’t know if he wanted her anymore or to be near her anymore frankly.
"It's..." he began quietly, "It's wasn't because of you," he then reassured, his gaze still forced away from Serah, "I just--"

Reappearance; Serah/Noctis
That voice…
Noctis knew it all too well. Pausing for a moment, he then lifted his eyes regrettably, instantly wanting to hide away in his own self made darkness, “I…” he began, his voice failing him as his gaze remained longer on the one before him, “Serah…” her name fell difficultly from his tongue, unlike on the past.
He turned away almost immediately after speaking, holding back the apology that was sitting in his throat. Did she even want to hear that? After returning disappearing for a second time, would she believe him if he confessed he was sorry? He doubted it, but he couldn’t just keep silent, despite wanting to—he felt he had to say something.
“I’m back,” was all could muster out.
“Yeah… you are,” she clutched her basket and felt her heart fall. What were they to say to each other after so much time apart?
It felt like a weird dream, he was in her bed and then… gone when she woke. Had he fallen to the grave Etro’s tricks on the beach. Giving him his mother only to lead him to his doom? Was he even real? Maybe this was just… Her hand reached his face and felt his cold pale skin with the tips of her fingers flinching at the temperature.
“How….?”
When she reached for him, he nearly pulled back. Cringing slightly at the light touch of her fingers. He had been alone all this time, isolated by others willingly--he had nearly forgotten what it felt like to be around another. Any information about Versus is very… sensitive, even within the company. We’ve been quiet about it for the past year, but the day of being able to remove its information ban has already been decided, and we’re currently preparing for that day. When that time comes, we’ll also reveal our reason for the delay of any form of announcement.

Reappearance; Open!
Approaching the familiar ornate gate, the dark haired prince ceased to a stop. He gazed up, hesitating just for a moment, deciding whether or not he should flee once more. Moogletown, he spoke only in his head, his azure irises reflecting the gate’s name, his mind and heart still conflicted on if he should enter.
He had disappeared yet again, leaving those closest to him here behind, giving them no hope of a definite return. He exhaled softly to himself, cringing at the thought of those who would be angry or upset at his decisions nearly causing him to turn and walk the opposite direction. But he didn’t—he couldn’t—instead, he just walked in, bracing himself for any negative confrontations.
The streets were less crowded, a bit different than how he last remembered them, but the scenery hadn’t changed. The same stores were still in business and the same merchants still stood in their usual spots. However, Noctis kept his head down and his eyes low, he wanted to remain unseen but he knew he stood out—a dark shadow amongst the brightness of Moogletown.
Ack!
He heard someone say and immediately his steps abruptly stopped. He had collided into another and quickly but softly he spoke, “My apologies!” he couldn’t tell who it was, his eyes were still glued to the stone streets.
Serah felt a venture out into town for dinner ingredients had gone well, especially after losing most of her groceries the previous day after the shock of seeing her dear sister. She tighted the hold around her basket just in time to collide with another body.
“My apologies!” she squeaked out, knowing that her thoughts on a return of Lightning had distracted her from the path she was one.
She didn’t look back to see who it was at first, but the darkness that hung over them compelled her to turn to the, “No… it couldn’t be.”
That voice...
Noctis knew it all too well. Hey guys, remember me?
Wow, yeah it's been a while and I'm sorry! I'm a bad mun for sort of disappearing on you all but I promise I'm still here! So expect replies, opening posts, and all that great junk soon! And if I'm being terrible and unresponsive again just yell at me on my personal!
“Serah, I…” he began, a frown now tugging at his lips, “I don’t know, honestly…” he admitted, resting his chin on her shoulders, their bodies rocking slowly against the gentle waves of the oceans. He exhaled softly, shutting his eyes momentarily.
“I want to believe that, yes, but…” he paused, unsure how she would take the bluntness of his coming words, “We will be happy, just not…safe…”
He exhaled once more, pulling away from Serah slightly only to gaze into her eyes. He wanted to read her expressions, seeing her reactions but all he could do was refocus his eyes elsewhere as if he was ashamed to meet her stare, “You understand, right? There’s no such thing as a future where we could live peacefully by ourselves, She…” he glared into the water, “Etro will find us…”
“No I…. I don’t want to believe that- she hasn’t touched us yet. What if she let’s us… let’s me live longer?” she was referring to the impending end of her life- fearing the visions of death would come back as she inched closer to her life’s end, “I want to believe she will let us be happy for just a little longer.”
She felt a tear drop, joining the salty waters below her and hid her face as she looked down. This would end as quickly as the last. Everything about them was wwrong and he was right, they were never safe….
"But that..." He began, searching for her eyes, "But that doesn't mean we can't be together Serah."
He pulled her closer, embracing her tightly. They were Etro's targets, the goddess will never rest until their fates were fulfilled, but Noctis wasn't going to surrender to her, he will never, "Wasn't it you who told me that we can defy our fate?" he asked, placing a gentle hand under her chin to lift her face up to gaze into her eyes, "I will not lose you because of Etro, Serah."
He leaned down to kiss her lips lightly, "I love you," he whispered, "But if..." he began, "If you feel you can't be with me then I will let you go..."
He grinned, following her into the waters, only after removing his shirt as well. The water felt refreshing and his body shivered with delight. He pulled Serah closer, his lips finding their way to her neck and he kissed her lovingly. The salty taste of the ocean overtaking his mouth immediately.
He smiled at her, pulling her closer, only to say, “I love you,” softly in her ears.
He was truly grateful to have her in his life. She…did not force anything out of him and she loved wholeheartedly regardless. She was the weight that kept him grounded, without her, he’d be…lost. Wandering somewhere, searching for a purpose.
“I don’t want to be anywhere but here,” he pressed his forehead into her’s, “I’ll away be here, I won’t ever leave you…”
“I love you…” she closed her eyes and listened to his words. She hummed happily and rubbed his hand on his back and arched into him and shivered.
“You will never lose me…” Serah sighed knowing that it wasn’t true but she pressed her lips to his and then pulled back to bite her lip as she ignored her fears, “What do you think will happen in our future? Do you think… we’ll… be happy?”
"Serah, I..." he began, a frown now tugging at his lips, "I don't know, honestly..." he admitted, resting his chin on her shoulders, their bodies rocking slowly against the gentle waves of the oceans. He exhaled softly, shutting his eyes momentarily.

Breaking away from the kiss, he replied slowly, “Nothing, I just…” but his words seem to fade quickly. In truth, he couldn’t wholeheartedly answer her, for he didn’t know exactly what just happened…himself.
But apart of him felt relieved seeing his mother smile at him again. It brought his heart to peace, and banished the regret and anguish from it. He’d been living his days, wallowing in pain and agony over her death and perhaps this was her way of saying its okay, everything is alright.
“I’m…sorry, I left without word…” he then said softly, “I would’ve came back…I just…”
But he couldn’t tell her, he just—couldn’t.
“I understand…” she smiled, seeing him visibly calmer than he had been from earlier. The sky was darkening and the beach was empty and she smirked as she looked back to the water that reflected the light purple and pink sky, “Lets… just enjoy this moment.”
She pulled off her tunic and began walking towards the water. With one hand, she untied her top while holding it up with the other hand. She giggled and stepped into the water, “Let’s swimmm.” she sang.
He grinned, following her into the waters, only after removing his shirt as well. The water felt refreshing and his body shivered with delight. He pulled Serah closer, his lips finding their way to her neck and he kissed her lovingly. The salty taste of the ocean overtaking his mouth immediately.

Was he dreaming? Had he really lost…his mind? Noctis could only ponder such thoughts but he could stop his legs from running after this apparition of his mother. He felt like he needed to follow her, like it meant life or death. But she was leading him further and further away from Serah’s beach home and the regret of abandoning his lover so suddenly like this…nearly brought his mind to a clear.
Until, the figure before him halted her steps, her body turning to face him and immediately he was caught under the familiar gaze of the woman who gave him life, “Mother, I…” his words trembled as they fell from his mouth, and he felt his knees quaver to the sand.
“I’m sorry, I…shouldn’t had…I should’ve…” he regretted sacrificing her to Etro, she—had always been too kind to him. She did nothing to deserve such a fate. But she shook her head and smiled down at her son, his heart swelling with a nostalgic affection before she was…gone entirely again.
Slowly, he rose to his feet, hearing another approach from behind, and turned around only to face the one woman who remained still in life, “Serah…” he whispered, surprised by her presence, “I…” he began, but instead, rushed towards her and embrace her, his lips immediately finding her’s.
Her heart jumped as he kissed her and felt his joy in her kiss. Serah embraced him and slunk into his embrace, wanting to ask about the woman but getting so lost in this… kiss. Everything was perfect when he held her like this.
“Noctis… what happened?”
Breaking away from the kiss, he replied slowly, "Nothing, I just..." but his words seem to fade quickly. In truth, he couldn't wholeheartedly answer her, for he didn't know exactly what just happened...himself.
But apart of him felt relieved seeing his mother smile at him again. It brought his heart to peace, and banished the regret and anguish from it. He'd been living his days, wallowing in pain and agony over her death and perhaps this was her way of saying its okay, everything is alright.

But he couldn't tell her, he just--couldn't.
Noctis shook his head immediately at Serah’s inquiry, “It’s nothing,” he reassures her softly, his tone seemingly convincing. He flashed her a smile before continuing, “I just can’t bare the thought of losing you…”
He sighed, welcoming Serah into his arms and watched her as she slowly drifted into slumber. He contemplated dozing off as well but couldn’t, he feared his nightmare would return. So instead, he sat there, he eyes venturing up into the orange sky. The sun was setting causing a sensation of uneasiness to spiral through him, he dreaded the night now. If he could, he’d stay awake through it and he tried that but…his mind and body couldn’t take it.
Gathering the blankets and food, he carefully carries Serah and everything back into the house, trying not disturb her from her peaceful sleep. He laid her down on the couch, bringing a small blanket from her to drape over her body. He smiled, even while she slept she was still so beautiful. He touched her face with a soft hand and bent down to kiss her cheek. If he was the one destined to end her life then so be it, he would end his own immediately after.
Slowly, he rose to his feet and made his way out the door to sit out on the steps. The ocean breeze felt cool on his face, it was nice and refreshing. But peace can never last too long. Out in the distance, he saw a figure. A familiar one. It was a woman, dressed a beautiful dress, hair and eyes similar to his own, “Mother…” he whispered, standing up slowly, wondering if his vision was deceiving him. But he ran towards her regardless.
Serah felt herself arise not on the blanket in the sand but on her couch. Where had he gone? She stretched from her slumber, finding Snow curled up under her arms and was now disturbed by her motions. He meowed with annoyance and scampered off to her room to return to slumber. The pink haired girl rose fromthe couch and checked each room, seeing him not in the kitchen, before moving outside.
“Noctis?” she grew worried, maybe he had left her? Would he do such a horrible thing? “Noctis please?!” she looked off to beach seeing him run towards a woman…. was this another of his fated beings?
“Noctis?” she called but he did not hear her only entranced by the female before him and she ran after him to see who she was.
Was he dreaming? Had he really lost...his mind? Noctis could only ponder such thoughts but he could stop his legs from running after this apparition of his mother. He felt like he needed to follow her, like it meant life or death. But she was leading him further and further away from Serah's beach home and the regret of abandoning his lover so suddenly like this...nearly brought his mind to a clear.

Noctis found himself dozing off on the porch, the warm ocean breeze sending him into slumber. He exhaled, his thoughts turning into dreams and then eventually…into a nightmare.
But this time, it was different. His mother and Serah still present, as well as his father—King Caelum. His own falchion sword clutched in his father’s grips, the blood of his love and mother staining the steel blade. He smiled wickedly, whispering the words, ‘return back to me, my prince’, his voice distorted and emotionless. It couldn’t be the king, it could be…
He awoken by a pair of his own, Serah’s, and he returned the kiss with overflowing passion. He smiled, silently thanking a god above that his nightmare had ended, praying that she wouldn’t notice the hint of fear pulsating through his tired, sapphire eyes.
He rose up, following her onto the beach once more, sluggishly falling back onto the blanket and smiled when Serah laid out the food. He shook her head at her comment, “No…you’re perfect,” he corrected, flashing her one last smile before taking a sandwich.
“Serah, I…” he began, pausing from eating, “I love you,” he said, smiling down at his sandwich, “And this place is like heaven to me…” he told her, “I…don’t deserve any of this and yet you’re giving me everything I’ve always wanted…”
He remembered his nightmare, wondering if their fate was still sealed after all this time. Was he destined to kill her?
Something about his words worried her, the distressed look of his sleep told her that a nightmare had crept up on him while she made their lunch but she shook it off as he didn’t appear to worried about until now. She held her tongue for a moment as she chewed on a bite of her sandwhich. When she swallowed she spoke.
“Are you okay? You seem tense…” she sighed and reached for his hand across the blanket, “You deserve more than this because you’ve struggled so much…”
Serah pulled back for a moment and nibbled waiting to hear his words, her appetite began to subside and soon she could not find the words to express her happiness him, “I don’t think I could be happier… This moment…. could last forever and I’d love it.”
She leaned back on the blanket and closed her eyes letting the warm sun blanket her until she fell into a dreamless doze.
Noctis shook his head immediately at Serah's inquiry, "It's nothing," he reassures her softly, his tone seemingly convincing. He flashed her a smile before continuing, "I just can't bare the thought of losing you..."
