Stage Guy

Street Fighter Alpha 2

Also known as Guy's stage theme. This is a remix of the first stage in Final Fight (composed by Manami Matsumae), which Guy is originally from. The Alpha 2 arrangement is by Setsuo Yamamoto.

While I think the Final Fight OST is just okay, I think the Alpha 1 arrangement is a great improvement on it, in both sound quality and composition. However, the Alpha 2 OST brings this track to a whole new level. Almost every track in Alpha 2 is an improvement.

This arrangement elevates this theme from a remix of a Final Fight stage theme to Guy's Theme. This song sounds like it has rising and falling action. There are dramatic pauses, heavy percussion, pauses in the drums to increase the impact of "the drop" per se, and a drum solo at the end before the loop starts again.

Basically, I think the drums make this song, both in their presence and their absence. Absolute masterpiece and banger. No wonder Bushinryu has so many practitioners.
