im tired so: sentryagent / bishova immortals! au where all of the thunderbolts (and largely mcu heroes overall) are immortal, but the kind in the Old Guard (not invincible, just fast regeneration and no aging, sometines they die and they just never wake up again) with:
Robert "Bob" Reynolds, born shortly after the American Civil War during the 1870s. His parents moved out to the Wild West where Bob suffered a volatile childhood, resulting in his running away to become a wanted crimminal (accidentally). He realized his immortality after a quickdraw duel gone wrong (right) with John Walker, infamous bounty hunter and former soldier boy. Wakes up unharmed in an unmarked grave John put him in.
John Walker, born just in time to fight in the American Civil War. Originally in Georgia's Confederate military, he defected after meeting Lemar Hoskins to join the Union. They fell in battle together but John was the only one to get back up. He continued onto the West after the war, becoming a bounty hunter. After his duel with Bob, he suffers from the guilt (thinking he actually killed the other man) and disappears from history until World War 1. When John sees Bob again as a young pilot under his command, he doesn't realize this is the same man he thought he had killed decades ago. Neither does Bob. John tries to make things right to this Bob, at least...
Yelena Belova, born in Soviet Russia, 1950s, during the height of the Cold War. Originally trained as part of the KGB program, she was briefly raised by Alexei and eventually made her way back to him and Natasha. She dies via the USSR's betrayal, during her attempt on Clint Barton's life, and is snuck out via Natasha.
Kate Bishop, born in the 1940s, to war made millionaires. Her parents dove headfirst into the space race with their resources, leaving Kate to be raised by the help. Kate encounters Yelena when Yelena attempts to assassinate her mentor and key CIA personnel Clint Barton. Sees Yelena die for her, and thinks she's dead. Kate only finds out she's immortal decades later when she stops aging, and has to fake a line of succession for Bishop Security. Decades later, a woman named Yelena Romanov applies to be CEO Kate Bishop's executive assistant.
Bucky Barnes, born in the 1700s during the American Independence era alongside Steve Rogers. President James Buchanan Barnes was named after Bucky. Steve and Bucky can't sit out punching Nazis though, can they?
Ava Starr, born in Victorian England, early 1800s, to Spanish ambassadors. Much of her life was spent suffering from tuberculosis until she died. She woke up during her burial, inside her coffin, and now suffers from severe claustrophobia. A museum curator, she finds John, Bob, and Yelena and recognizes them first.
Alexei Shostskov, born in the late 1500s, was a key figure in establishing the Romanov Tsardom. Later on, when the Romanovs fell in thr 1800s, Alexei snuck out a young Natalia Romanova who later became an immortal as well.
Sam Wilson, born 1980s. Crashed during a pararescue operation and was known to be the sole survivor, but he knows better.
Clint Barton, born in dark ages Europe. Loved the Renaissance, and maintains a wide web of immortal-sustaining connections.
