Thank you to everyone who followed this project and enjoy your item.
DIY iPhone speaker
Now it’s time to present the final result, but before that I have some tips and suggestions:
Use the glue gun or tape to fill any gaps that shouldn’t be there
Spend time to make sure you take accurate measurements
Keep testing different methods to try to get the loudest volume
You can use some materials to make it aesthetically look better
Here’s how it looks like

Piece #3
Hi guys, this will be the final piece for this project which is a stand for the cup
Steps:
Get your craft sticks
Measure the bottom of your cup
Cut one of the sticks to the length you measure
Get two sticks cut at the same length the same length
Use the glue gun to stick both sticks to the first one on each side to make a C shape
Stick both sticks to either side of the cup at an angle so the cup stands parallel to the base
Here’s how both pieces should look when attached the cup
*I decided to attach the first part before attaching the second because it is easier to cut the cup, as well as when I attached the first piece it changed the shape of the cup to be a bit more oval so I had to adjust my2nd piece to fit the new position
*I also made the whole in the middle of the oval cardboard bigger
Here’s how the second piece should look!

Piece #2
Welcome back guys,
Today I’ll be working on making the sound amplifier
Steps:
Measure the inside part of the cup where you will be putting this piece (try to put it around 2-4cm away from the phone holder)Â
Using the compass, draw the measurement of the circle on the cardboard
Use the knife to cut the circle
Make a tiny hole in the middle of the circle using the knife
Cut a piece of the colored paper (it should be slightly longer than the length of the cup when its placed in its position inside the cup)(it should also be wide enough to roll it twice)
Using a marker or something similar to it, roll some of the paper around the marker
Roll the marker to make a roll out of the paper
Glue the edge of the paper to form a cylinder
Glue the paper roll to the circular cardboard piece in the center (the small hole should be in the center of the roll)
And that’s it!
Here’s the first piece completed!
*I’d recommend using a small glue gun since you’re dealing with small and sensitive surfaces
These are the pieces you should have after cutting

Piece #1
Hi there!
Today I’ll be showing you the steps on how to make the phone holder
Steps:
Measure the length and width of your phone and record them
Decide on the height, (remember the bottom part of the phone should be inside the cup) I chose 4 cm
Draw out your pieces on the cardboard
Cut the pieces out using cutting knife
Glue all your pieces together to form a rectangle
Glue the small pieces to one of the open sides
There you go you have your phone holder
*Originally I tried to use Styrofoam for my phone holder, but after testing it didn’t work because it couldn’t fit in the cup and it was hard to empty, that’s why I changed to cardboard because it’s easier to work with and gives the same result.
Here’s a photo of the equipment I’ll be using

Planning
Welcome back!
After gathering information from research, and deciding the item I’ll DIY, it’s time for the plan.
I’ll divide my project into 3 parts based on the pieces.Â
My first piece, which is my input, will be the phone holder which I’ll be making using Styrofoam.
Piece number 2 will be the sound amplifier which will be made by hard paper and card board, this piece will act as my medium/output.
I’ll be working on the cup which will be the platform that everything is connected to.
Tune in tomorrow for information on how to make Piece #1

Inspiration and ideas
Hello again,
After figuring out what to do, I had to figure how to do it, so I started researching some ideas and existing models for inspiration. (below are links to some of the ideas that I’ve seen)
Most of these ideas had 3 things in common: something to hold the phone (input), something that acted like a channel for the sound (medium) and something that exerted the sound (output).
I noticed that for the input, people used cardboard tissue rolls and made a hole in the middle of it, cardboard phone holders, or had an item that could act as all 3 steps.
For the medium, people either used the same tissue roll, or created a rolled paper extension, etc.
For the output, some ideas were to connect cups to either side of the tissue roll, or create something that was cone shaped and connect the medium to the smaller end and let the sound be outputted from the expanded side.
DIY iPhone speaker
Hello all,
Welcome to my blog on how to build a DIY iPhone speaker
To pick this multimedia low tech item, I had to consider several criteria's such as: complexity, usefulness, cost efficiency and value. The item that checks all the boxes was the phone speaker.Â
1.It’s fairly complex but possible to makeÂ
2.Since I don’t have a speaker and my phone’s max volume isn’t actually that loud this makes this item great for my issueÂ
3.All the components that make up the item total to less than $20Â
4.An actual speaker from a store will cost no lower than $50 so I’m saving $30.
