more angles + my ramble about the design + workflow and stuff
ANGLES!
INTRODUCTION
Hi! I haven't really posted or interacted with actually any mcyt community at all so I'll introduce myself here and then make separate post and pin it so it doesn't rot here.
Anyways Heyyy! I'm Bene I mostly lurk around mcyt and draw + do 3D. My goal with this model now is to rig it and then animate it. What sort of animation will I do? I don't know yet but probably some Dumb's lore scenes on the servers they play on.
I also plan on making Stormz's model (#para) but because I'm graduating in 2-3 months I might need to take a break to focus on that :))
DESIGN CHOICES
I tried to stick tightly to his mc skin but I didn't want to make long winter coat beacause it would be pain to rig (I've never manually rigged - only used the rigify addon like once). I was inspired by those cropped airplane jackets with fur.
The reference for the pants is this pinterest post. I just thought it would suit them so I did it yeah.
I don't have a close-up of the shoes but they were inspired by the Japanese tabi shoes!!!
MODELLING
It took me a week to do the model. Instead of first sculpting and then doing retopology, I just added face and carved the face topology with the knife tool and shaped the topology how I wanted (with a refenece). I'm not sure if this was the workflow that suits me the best so I'll try the sculpt + retopo next time.
Overall pretty satisfied with it, I think I did decent job at the topology but we'll see that after I rig it.
TEXTURES
I'm really proud about how this turned out - ALL textures were made in BLENDER. I used addon called Paint system and these brushes.
The only problem that I have is that when I add a new texture (4096x4096) and try to paint on it it's pixelated, so I just expanded the resolution to 8kx8k. This isn't a good solution - my blender was slow and crashed several times when painting on the layer. I'll need to do some research on this and fix it. Or if anyone knows how to do it please text me! :D
The thing I am the most proud of is the red scar tissue on their face and arm - it was both fun and hell painting it = 10/10 fireball.

This is actually my first properly finished 3D model with textures. LIE!!! I still need to finish texturing the inside of mouth + tongue but I really wanted to post about this progress and ramble about it >:)
