I don’t know why but I am always really excited to walk around in fog, I think it’s a strange and beautiful kind of weather. I love the feeling of the uncanny it creates, of making the familiar seem briefly unfamiliar through a partial obscurity. Walking by the river I couldn’t see anything of the nearby Canary Wharf, not even the flashing light on the top of the One Canada Square building. Something about the disappearing city is so thrilling, as if even glass and steel structures are permeable and transient.

Here is Greenwich enshrouded in fog. I am trying to stick to a small set of aims every day to keep my mood up through the winter ‘lockdown’ – these walks are one of those things keeping my mind healthy. 🍂🍁
