caretaker things i love:
when they call you a good baby/kid
when they say “you’re too little to do that” and just do it instead
their voices
their touch full of care
the daddy/mommy stare they give you when you’re in trouble
how patient they are even after you’ve been very bratty
but also how they know when you’re out of limits and need to give you a punishment
when they pick up your paci just so they can put it in your mouth and say “come here, let me take care of you”
when they put on your socks and shoes for you
how they open all the doors for you
how everything is better, happier and more fun when they’re around
when they’re sad and know you’re there to give them support
just like when you’re sad they’ll always be there for you
how much reliable they are
how caring and sweet they are
how strong and such an example they are for their regressor(s)
their eyes, their smell, their hands… ah… their hands! and all the perfect expressions they do as a response for every little thing you do
when they call you “butthead” or “silly/dork” just so they can see you pout and then call you cute
when they always grab your hands when crossing the street, because they want to protect you
how they pay attention to what you like and dislike just so they do what’s best for you
everything. they exist.
caretakers are so good and deserve all the appreciation. they’re there for us and do everything they can. thank you, every caregiver out there. we know how hard you all try too!
