☠︎ bea was born into a family ( for lack of a better term ) who didn’t want her. victor, her father, was a member of the mulligan clan , a reaper by birth. he was a quiet guy with a short temper and an affinity for violence. he spent most nights picking fights ; sometimes for money , sometimes for fun. he liked the feeling of his knuckles against somebody else’s flesh , the almost poetic splatter of red. he enjoyed all the benefits of being a reaper without the responsibility of being an heir.
☠︎ olivia , her mother , was a runaway. a young girl from a broken home who found shelter with a gang of misfits on the north side of coyote point. she met victor one night at hideaways , and it wasn’t long until he was calling her “ his girl ”. still , to say they were love would be a stretch. she wanted to feel wanted, and he liked that she was a sure thing. a few months after olivia’s arrival at coyote point , she announced that she was pregnant. despite victor’s pleas against it , she decided to keep it.
☠︎ they tried to make it work, but it didn’t last. they were too young and preoccupied with their own lives to properly raise a baby. shortly after bea’s birth , victor all but ignored her existence. olivia lost interest. beatrice was born vanishing. she grew up in the shadows , in the blind spots , slipping in and out of focus. no one was ever watching her closely , so from a very young age she learned to entertain herself. being invisible meant that she could do whatever she wanted.
☠︎ a few years later , to everyone’s surprise , olivia became pregnant again. twins , this time. no one knows for sure who the father is , but everyone assumes it’s victor. victor also assumes it’s him , and tries to take part in his offspring’s life this time around. bea disappears further into the background.
☠︎ as expected , victor doesn’t stick around for very long. things were good for a while , they almost gave the appearance of being a family , but things turned sour quickly. victor disappeared for days at a time , and olivia wasn’t having it. she was exhausted. the few nights that victor did come home , bea and the twins would fall asleep to a symphony of screams and breaking glass. it always ended with a door slam , and victor was gone again.
☠︎ bea was just a teenager when she walked home one day from school to her mother’s lifeless body. it was easy to imagine what really happened , but no one wanted to point fingers. from that moment , death becomes a part of bea.
☠︎ living with victor is like living with a ghost. he disappears for days at a time ; bea and her siblings fend for themselves. bea slips into a role that doesn’t really fit her — those who know her now would never consider her a mother figure. when he’s around , victor grooms them , trains them to be reapers. to fight until the other guy’s unconscious and to show no remorse. bea goes along with it , despite not feeling any passion for it. she doesn’t feel much of anything anymore. being a reaper means that at least she has a home.
☠︎ in school , she’s not a star student , but she’s also not the worst. decent grades and the idea of a college education make her believe that one day she could get out of this town. but every single time that thought pops into her head , she shoots that idea down. the grime is her home , it’s where she belongs.
☠︎ she develops a bit of a reputation. spending most nights at the point , all the boys boys ( and some girls ) know her name , and how she giggles when she moans theirs.
☠︎ after high school she decides she’s done with school , by this point too certain that she doesn’t deserve a life beyond what she knows ( and too scared to face the possibility that she does ). she could have made it out , but it’s easier to stay in coyote point. and you can always count on bea to do what’s easiest.

☠︎ let me start by saying that finding positive traits to describe bea is a struggle. she doesn’t have a lot going for her. sure , she’s resourceful and generally fun to be around. kinda funny at times. sometimes smart. that’s pretty much it.
☠︎ the other hand , she’s messy , obnoxious , unpolished , impolite , lazy , unmotivated , self-destructive , unambitious , irresponsible , tactless , reckless , selfish , and i could keep going. she’s an unapologetic disaster capable of fucking her way in and out of any mess.
☠︎ pretty much functions on survival mode 24/7. she does whatever she needs to do to get by. she doesn’t like relying on anyone.
