Today I volunteered teaching people about bees/beekeeping at the community garden I’m a part of, and my favorite local bakery had a booth set up there too. I went over to say hi (im a regular customer) and promised i would buy a loaf of bread later but I had to go keep tabs on the bee booth for a bit, and the baker said “oh! I have something for you then!” and pulled out this BEAUTIFUL LOAF WITH A BEE ON IT and gave it to me 🥺🥺🥺 i almost cried its so wonderful i love my community and i love bees and i love bread

A special four-flour loaf, with sweet and earthy notes of rye, spelt, buckwheat and kamut flours, baked in an oiled round springform tin for a change!
French Batard, 50% overnight poolish
80% hydration
I overall liked the 50% hydration better, though the crumb on this one was comfortably dense enough for a heavier sandwich
Test Baugettes following the White Bread with Poolish recipe from Flour Water Salt Yeast.

whole wheat sweet molasses brown bread!!! these guys were really fun to make and came out awesome!!
Back at it again with the bread making! 🍞🍞🍞 Haven’t made any homemade bread since moving and the difference between bread making in a humid basement apartment and a real house is night and day! My bread stayed in a nice round loaf and ended up with a beautifully cracked and crusty top ❤ .. Made with @kingarthurflour whole wheat flour, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, and @bobsredmill ground flaxseed and poppy seeds to encrust the outside! Definitely excited for a winter of bread making endeavors
There are few things more relaxing than taking a fresh loaf of bread out of the oven after working on it for hours! 🍞🍞🍞 Definitely the hearty pick-me-up everyone needs right now. .. Made with @kingarthurflour whole wheat flour, sunflower seeds, and @bobsredmill whole AND ground golden flaxseed, it was the perfect pairing for my homemade vegan fondue (recipe coming very very soon) 😊
