juliet squinted her eyes as the other talked, as if that was going to help her recognize them. it didn’t ring a bell—it wasn’t like she cared much about people she knew but never interacted with. "oh, that can be it," she nodded. "thanks," she mused, taking her own drink in her hands. "what are you studying?"

"I'm studying computer science," Rachel sai,d smiling a little. She was a little surprised that Juliet was showing her interest, like her personal life, but it was nice, she was being nice. " What about yourself?"

juliet took a spot at the bar, glanced at rachel as she ordered, and let herself check her out whenever she wasn't looking. her unbothered expression came back after a couple of seconds. as she took the drink in her hands, she took a long sip before answering. "sure i do," she nodded. "did i know you back then?"

"Nah, not really, but we did go to the same high school, that's why you recognize my face" She explained as she paid for the drinks and had a sip of her own drink.

"well, you'll have to deal with it, love," she shrugged, classic juliet—bitter and honest, never sugarcoating things, especially not for someone she barely knew. her tone was sharp, but there was an edge of amusement beneath it. "yeah, well, i don't know about that," she added, her fingers brushing through her hair as she glanced around. "i'm supposed to be meeting someone here in a bit." her words trailed off, casual but pointed, like she wasn’t entirely sure she cared if they showed or not. after a beat, she tilted her head, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "just one, and you're paying," she mused, brushing past rachel without waiting for an answer.

Rachel chuckled to herself as she followed Juliet's lead to the bar. Juliet might be a little rough around the edges, very arrogant it seemed, but there was something very intriguing and sexy about a girl as confident and sure of herself as she seemed to be. As they got to the bar Rachel let Juliet order herself a drink and then paid for it and her own drink. "So tell me, Juliet, do you have no memories of high school?" she questioned amused

as the other spoke, juliet rolled her eyes, raising her hands in mock defense. why would she admit otherwise when she was sure she could’ve handled the situation on her own? at the sarcasm in his voice, she let out a small sigh. “look, i don’t know if you’re just bitter ‘cause i’m being honest or what, but chill,” she shrugged. her eyes studied him again before a small smirk tugged at her lips. “that reaction tells me i’ve seen you before… mind telling me your name again?”

"Yeah, that's it, I'm definitely bitter about your honesty. " Rachel couldn't help but laugh for some reason, it just felt unreal to her the way Juliet was acting but somehow it amused her both and intrigued her interest. "Look, how about we just drop this discussion and go get a drink together instead?" Rachel suggested as a smile crept it's way on her face.
