But it would be spectacular if we do.

She watches him intently, biting her lower lip, hearing his warning, it made her want to sob, she didn’t want to fight kylo again, it was exhausting and she didn’t know if she’d be able to do it again, she bites back the need to react at his words and only nods. “I see… I can take him.” She pins her hair behind her ear, lettikut a tiny sigh, “why are you helping me? Isn’t this going to get you in trouble? Helping me… This isn’t proper from a general.” She was careful, making sure she didn’t show him anything more than she wanted to, she wasn’t used to being shown such kindness and care, even less when she was captured, so she could help but think it was a trap.
“Yes. Thank you.” Rey watched him, trying to figure kit what his deal was, knowing this is not how a general behaved specially towards prisoners who held key information for their cause. She followed him, she felt weak, but the moment she sensed something off she’d fight with everything she had, hazel orbs settled on the ground, silently memorizing the way although it proved to be a difficult task, given everything looked the same, same colors, same doors, it was like Jakku, the same nothingness, repetitive landscape.
A slightly muses grin tugs the general’s lips at her fiestiness. I can take him — she must be young, he thought to himself. However he nods, not doubting her for a moment. As for why he was helping her, again, it was selfishness, stubbornness. He doesn’t know how to put it into words, how to say it without it making her seem like nothing but a tool to him. Even if she was. “ I suppose… I don’t want to see him win so easily. ” vague, leaving it open ended. Not saying he was helping her to win, but rather making it more difficult for him. Nor does he state Kylo Ren wont eventually win, because Hux is sure he will.
He escorted her out of the cell, the guards just outside the door seeming rather surprised when she moved to follow him out. Although not saying a word as it was the General himself escorting her. Not really daring take her to a spare room he’d instead take her to his personal quarters. Once reaching the door he’d give a voice recognition upon entering. He steps aside to let her in, the door closing behind them. The lights flicker to life and a rather luxurious condo is revealed. The livingroom area dorned with L shaped sofas that created a square. Two steps onto a higher level was the large circular king sized bed and night stands.
The room was rather empty, simplistic, nothing personalized, no images or memories. No art and minor decor, mostly plants. There is a desk to the far right of the upper platform, it’s scattered with files and papers, the most disorganized area of the condo. A small kitchenette on the main level off the livingroom and a bathroom leading from the right of the small desk and office space. “ Feel free to rest on the bed. ” he gestures up to where the large bed was as he moves himself to the sofas, leaving her at the door to decide.
She followed him into the room, surprised at the size, bugger than any house she'd ever seen, hazel orbs take in the modern surrounding, it was all slick and.... Lonely. She quietly stepped behind him, she'd been expecting a private, small room, a mattress in the corner, not his private quarters. She hurries behind him, walking up the two stairs before hesitantly settling down on the soft bed, almost groaning out at the softness. However she remembers he's still there, and quickly she finds herself turning, looking up at him, the slightest if wrinkles settling between dark brows, "w-wait.." she uses at her voice, it hadn't come out as she expected, more soft, delicate, she clears her throat, " I can take the couch. I don't want to.." she bites back the snarky remark, 'taint your sheets with my rebel essence' he was being nice, he didn't deserve her angered comments, "I don't want to intrude."
She felt flustered, out of her element, not uncomfortable but at edge, waiting for him to attack, to trap her, but none of that ever came. Peach lips pressed into a thin line, everything looked so cold, empty... It was lonely, almost as if she were looking at herself, the thought made a lump form in her throat, making her swallow thickly, arms wrapping around her own slim form, "thank you.. but this... Don't think this will make me reveal anything... Kylo, none of you, you won't get the map..."

She falters at his words, if he wasn’t sent here, why bother even want to meet her? Dark brows furrow slightly, she’d never, in her wildest dreams think someone from the first order would be kind, have a heart, the few friends she had, they were all new, and they cherished her, the least thing she could do for them, for the few people that had showed her love and kindness for the first time in a long time, it was to protect them, help them as much as she could. Maybe this man was like her friends, but was afraid of lashing out, betraying his master, whoever that was.
She knew he was speaking the truth, she’d always been the best at seeing through lies, so her confusion only grew at his actions, he was treating her like a human, not like a prisoner, not like a slave, like he was normal, and not part of an evil organization. “Where are you taking me then? ” she spoke not nervously or afraid, but confused, slightly weary but she did not feel fear or evil coming from him, at least not towards her, not yet. She was so used to fighting, to running away from people, being pushed away, being one, everything that had happened, it still took some time to be fully processed correctly.
He allows her to stand on her own, hands moving to clasp lightly behind his back as he stood at some manner of attention. “ somewhere you might be able to rest for awhile. ” he assures her. However there is a moment of silence before he speaks again, “ I can’t promise he wont try to probe your mind again… ” a gentle attempt at informing her that he wouldn’t be able to protect her if that were to be the case. He could so her kindness to some degree, but he could not defy order. Not for one prisoner, especially one that seemed to be as important as her. After all, she had a map inside that head of hers, a map Kylo Ren wanted and he didn’t care what he had to do to get it.
Maybe it was Hux’s stubbornness, his wishing to make things as difficult for the jedi killer as possible. Maybe helping her rest would give her mind some time to recover and be ready to guard against a second onslaught against Kylo Ren’s abilities. “ Would you allow it? Me to show you somewhere to rest until he returns? ” he watches her closely, on guard in case it were to arise she’d rather try and fight for escape. He hoped that not the case, but one could never know when threatened with the idea of further torture. He knew he’d be a fighter if he were in her position.

She was exhausted, forcing Kylo away, protecting her mind, she didn’t even know how she’d done it, but she did and he’d stormed out of her cell in anger. She’d waited for more guards, torture, but instead she found herself staring at a orange haired man who spoke to her gently, almost kind. “He’s also angered me. I won’t break, it’s insulting to know he thinks I would.” He’d helped her put and she’d almost collapsed, holding on to him, her legs shaky as he spoke up, a dry laugh coming from the brunete, “ I don’t believe I can run.. ” she mutters softly, standing up, forcing herself to be still, stand strong.
“ Did he send you ? ” her voice is soft, as strong as she wanted to look, she was terrier at the thought of having her mind be invaded again, fighting Kylo Ren, it had felt as if all energy had been drained from her, and she was sure it had. “ Are you here to send me to the torture chamber ? Break my fingers and hurt me until I speak ? Because.. I won’t betray my friends, you’re all just waiting your time, might as well kill me. ”
It wasn’t the words he’d wanted to hear but he doesn’t mention it. He keeps a hand at her elbow as her legs seem to buckle under her own weight. He’d had his mind invaded many times by Snoke and a few times by Kylo Ren himself, he knew the exhaustion that came with it. He also knew the hopelessness of not being able to fight it, however she had. Her mind was stronger than any of them would have expected and it’s oddly admirable. Someone who could put Kylo Ren in his place would always have some manner of admiration from the general. “ I do not answer to Kylo Ren. I came of my own wishing. ” he had assured her and it was the truth.
He watches her for a moment shaking his head once she’s finished her little spiel of her loyalties. “ I am not here to hurt you or take you to someone who would. ” oddly he could sense it, the loneliness. Perhaps it was because of his own struggles with the wrecked feeling. So he’d continue this facade of kindness, of gentleness. Perhaps treating her like an actual human being would get more out of her than force would. He could tell she was stubborn and young, he did not feel even kindness would get the answers they needed as quickly as Snoke would want them, but it was an attempt.

He enters the room after witnessing the end of one of Kylo Ren’s renowned tantrums. It had come to his attention that the young woman he’d retrieved was stronger with the force than the dark knight had previously estimated. So the general felt it was his turn to try. He doubted his tactics would work if her mind couldn’t even be broken, but it was worth a try. He’d step into the room, the door sliding closed behind him. Emerald eyes looking her over in the contraption that forced her upright. He slowly ventured closer, lifting his gloved hands in a way to say he was not there to hurt her. “ You have anger Kylo Ren rather badly. ” he mentions, once close enough he’d move to undo the bindings at her wrists, helping to step out of the machine “ Do not try to run. ” he warns her, it wasn’t his usual tactic to be so….kind. But after one’s mind has been invaded, he felt this was the better method to try and win her trust. || @balanceforced
