Gonna explain my hc bc some ppl weren’t there for early elapsed when it was explained so
Yes null is a human here in fact I believe he’s a human even in BBCR! (Obviously not canon cuz that hc’s been shot dead like 3 times now but null is public domain I do what I want) And here’s why:
Ok so the focus here is less on what Null says and more on how he says it. Considering this line in particular is where the idea of Null just being a weird glitched character in the game first originated from:
(Depicted below is a video of Null’s first appearance in Baldi’s Basics Classic Remastered, that being in the game’s Classic mode secret ending, the dialogue being: “just, don’t- don’t- no uh- you probably- no I’m not someone trapped inside the game, that would be ridiculous. No uhm-…”)
Null almost rushes the sentence, and on top of that unlike the rest of his speech (where he DOES know what he wants to say but not HOW to say it, and it’s clear in his amount of stutters and uhms) it feels like he’s rehearsed it. and it comes out of nowhere really, he had no reason to bring that up, because the question of him being a real person or not hadn’t been asked. But I have more then just this
Here I’m focusing more on what he says, null instantly pieces together that we’re looking for him to figure out the game’s lore because he’s a secret vague character who knows more then what he can say
Now how would he know this if he’s just a glitch in the game? Other characters like Baldi who know they’re in a game never mention clichés like this but null does. He knows what they are and has experienced them before based off the way he talks. Hell, he MOCKS you for searching for a deeper story.
Not to mention in the exact same scene he says this as well:
How would he know what “the whole world” is like if he was simply a glitch in a game? He shouldn’t have had any prior experience with the outside world before the player if he wasn’t a real person. Again, Baldi is an example of this because we know he isn’t a real person and he doesn’t act like he is, but Null does act otherwise.
This goes back to my earlier point but Null has proven to know a lot of horror clichés, one of them being reversed audio being considered scary.
So again, how would he know this if he didn’t have any prior experience with said clichés?
Another point I want to make is the fact Null closes an exit at all before the boss fight. It’s a weird thing to have him be capable of doing.
Like sure Null has done a lot of things other NPCs can’t do but closing an exit has always been something specific to the player when they reach an exit. So this also leads me to believe Null was a real person and a former player that hasn’t lost this ability when being trapped in the game (however that happened)
Also yes I know the red baldloon does this when they replace null in glitch style but let a man dream.
originally I was just gonna comment on the “everyone who tells the same lies” bit because it feels oddly specific for a character meant to be a glitch that was never supposed to exist. But this entire section just feels. So much more human than anything we’ve seen from any other character.
(So I wanted to have another video here but tumblr hates me and wants me dead so images will have to do)
We’ve seen how characters like Mrs. Pomp and Baldi handle anger, but the way Null’s is displayed feels much more human in a game where the joke is how crappy it is. And that feels too human for a glitch. I mean he’s the only one who straight up has breathing / calming routines like counting. Plus in almost ALL his appearances he’s actively coughing and is in pain, I don’t think a glitch would feel pain when he glitches because that’s what he is.
Now why would he lie about this? He basically explains it in his first appearance.
“That would be ridiculous.”
He thinks the idea of being trapped in a crappy edutainment game, whether it’s his reality or not, is ridiculous, and maybe even embarrassing. So he lies about not being a real person to seem less pathetic 🗣️
And all these factors combined lead me to believe Null is a human trapped inside the game!!
Obviously the actual answer to all this is null is supposed to make fun of secret lore characters but let me have fun with this
So to answer your question yes Null is a human
