it hurts my heart that one day my children will sit on my lap look at my thighs and ask me how all those scars got there. that one day i will have to explain unexplainable sadness to them. that one day i will have to tell them about the harshness of the world. that one day i will have to tell them about the person i used to be instead of the person i will be. don’t get me wrong this will hurt my heart more than anything. but i will leave nothing out. i will never lie to my children about mental health, because i never want to have to look at my child with the same scars because they felt they couldn’t talk about it either.
