So, about the new pack reusing stuff
Normally, I try to avoid making any serious complaints about this game. I barely have the time to mod for it, let alone for this, but something particularly annoying came up and I NEED to rant about it.
Whenever I do play this game, I have it so full of CC that it takes an hour to load, so the whole "oh no EA reusing build buy items" thing has never really affected me, I don't use that many non-CC objects anyway. So, it shouldn't affect me when it comes to pushing updates, right... RIGHT?
For anyone who doesn't know, I've been maintaining a mod since Home Chef Hustle to add the other pizzas to the pizza delivery service, because those just straight up never got added to that. Watching videos about the new pack, I see they added two pizzas to stalls. Guess I'm going to have to update that mod.
Weird that they look so much like the cheese and pepperoni pizzas, but whatevs. I just have to add the recipes to the service, maybe clone them to be safe, we'll see.
So I got on Tdesc Builder, not really expecting anything to be up. Then I only found the recipes for slices. "Huh, that's weird." Took a while, but I found someone who already had the new pack to ask about that, and apparently, nope.
Full pizza boxes for those slices don't exist.
That's annoying, kinda dumb. Whatever, I've never cloned a food object before but I guess there's a first time for everything. Took some trial and error, but I got it working, retextured the clones so they don't look like literally the same thing, made the new slices the base recipes to the clones.
And since I did that, I have to retexture the new slices too while I'm at it, woo, great. I thought, maybe, it'll be the texture that I need to override. Worst case, maybe it'll be the model, if they're reusing the basegame textures like I'm getting increasingly suspicious they are.
The "new" pizzas continue to not exist, though. A gracious follower checked and confirmed there don't seem to be any new pizzas at all for the pack on Sims 4 Studio, so it's not just me hallucinating.
So I go and double check the recipes, and I start getting this bad feeling, like "oh no", I hadn't actually checked before, because I just thought, you know, they couldn't possibly have done that.
What does the diavola slice recipe spawn, anyway?
...that seems like a weirdly low number for a new pack???
What do you mean, pizza diavola doesn't just look like the base game pepperoni pizza, it IS the basegame pepperoni pizza?????
WHY? Yeah, I know the answer is probably cost-cutting or something, but seriously? The pizzas? Do I even want to know what else spawns i Bellacorde market stalls? Actually, don't tell me, I don't want to know.
So, here we are. I guess I'm off to clone the base game slices and override those recipes! I wasn't expecting the "add new pizzas to delivery" update have this many steps but that's just the game we live with!
Am I too annoyed, about two little pizzas? Probably. Anyhow, sorry for the delays on the update. I guess this can also serve as explanation about what's been taking me so long.
