It's complicated. He's complicated.
I think Danny's weight/looks are his own business and not something people should be commenting on.
Thats completely valid mate, it is entirely his business. This block filming thing can throw a person because of the gap in seeing the cast, and you dont know how long its been, so it can worry a person! Hes our guy you know and I want the best for him!
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this because I have been so out of the loop the past 2 weeks and I'm still catching up
But does anyone else think Danny Miller has lost weight? I hope it's on purpose! If anybody has seen any interviews recently where he's mentioned a new exercise routine or something let me know!
Watching Robert help Kev move in with the vicar after he's lied his fucking backside off about his sister having brain surgery and then lie his fucking backside off to get back to Aaron and then lie his fucking backside off to get Aaron to stop talking about Kev just
while our beloved aaron dingle will never aspire to labor, i actually think a lot of his dismissiveness and resentment towards working is because he hates the scrapyard, he's always sort of hated the scrapyard, and now it's this thing he feels obligated to keep hold of despite that
aaron genuinely enjoyed being a mechanic. he took pride in his work. he teased cain about being the best one he had. he traveled to attend a workshop to become an even better mechanic. when cain was attacked and in hospital, aaron ran the garage on his own for months at just 20. he described the position of being a mechanic on a rally crew that ed found for him as a dream job. he came back in 2014 and started working at the garage again and seemed perfectly happy with that
it was adam that pushed for them to open a business together, adam who wanted to be something more than a farmer's son. first it was taxis then it was scrap and it was just anything that could get adam a different life. and aaron agreed because adam's no good on his own, because he loves him, and if it all failed then he could go back to the garage
i think aaron found a lot of satisfaction out of fixing things, out of being given something broken and dying and figuring it out. it was a rough start, because he sees himself as an eternal fuck up who's never been thought of as smart of accomplished or much of anything and acts accordingly, but he he figures it out. he's good at this. it gets him respect from the uncle he looks up to and the family he's still not all that sure about and a place in this village that's his home now, for now, maybe forever (he hopes)
scrap doesn't do that for him. there's no satisfaction in it, really, in spending his days among broken, discarded things and then breaking them down even more, in taking them away so no one has to look at them anymore. he once made a living out of fixing things and now he makes it by tearing them apart and in a lot of ways the scrapyard is just another scar
the scrapyard would have failed, except that robert sunk 10k into it so he and aaron would have an excuse to see each other. and it was this thing that aaron never really cared for, but for years he did it with adam and robert, it was something he created with them and then two of the most important people in his life were gone and the scrapyard was still there.
it was adam's dream and robert's investment and it's where he was when he was happiest, when he had robert and liv and seb, when adam was still there with him, and now it's all gone. he lost everything, everyone left, and now it's one of the few things that remains of them. so even though he hates it, even though it hurts him and claws at him, he stays
(someone has to stay)
the misdirect with celia is so good! for months the tension with her character has been about whether she's going to betray moira. the stuff with her and the tates is resolved pretty quickly because they're small fry to her. and the paddy dog attack is so long ago, who even remembers? and then the rug is pulled from under us and she's evil in ways we hadn't even considered!
I've never been so impressed at having been so blindsided in a soap. I mean genuinely we're talking youre not my mother yes I am levels of gasp

emmerdale spoilers if they were good
The second scene with Celia and April in April's childhood bedroom - the absolute lovebombing and the veiled threats god Jaye is SO good in this role.
Celia leaving and it cutting to a shot of April with her childhood stuffy???? cinema
Again I know I'm late to the game here, work has been wild, but I've just watched the April Dawn episode and
Yes it was slightly awkwardly scripted but I do think it was a decent attempt at a serious conversation. Continue to be impressed by Amelia Flanagan, she does a good job of showing how someone so strong-willed and smart can be manipulated.
I appreciate that they added in the line about Dawn not being a prostitute because she was underage therefore it was SA, but did they think through the implication that April was therefore a prostitute because shes over the age of consent? Was April refusing to go through with it supposed to be a sign that she's more of an adult? Because yeah ok you are an adult at 16 sure you can do most things legally like work etc., but I wasnt getting the impression this was about age and more about general predatory behaviour and tactics and how people end up trapped in bad situations. To sort of imply that April should know better than Dawn is a bit of a low blow.
(The addition of the whole toxic masculinity thing with the kids and the photos and the phones, I dont know if they'll keep that going forward, hopefully they do and it becomes more of a story on its own feet because id be very interested to see how they tackle that)
I dont know. I think the April Ray Celia is an engaging sl. I dont know if Dawn's commentary was as effective.
I did think the most horrifying line in that whole episode was casually dropping in that the "client" was a school inspector, because you know its true somewhere.
they had the opportunity to do the funniest thing and make that surrogate baby sarah's aunt

Childhood crush alert!
a genuinely irredeemable female character? coercive fucked up relationship dynamics that aren’t solely Issue Based but actually layered and interesting? on MY farm soap???
Idk if someone has shared this already but i was flipping through my grandfather’s copy of the Radio Times and this sent me oh my god
