The fact that we catch Maekar in a tense situation, but if you pay attention he’s a good dad… he believes his sons can change (before reaffirming it to himself more firmly but that’s understandable), he personally goes out to find them, he is clearly pissed off at aerion’s terrible behaviour and tries to discipline him (are you hiding? Why not slay the rogue yourself?) and when Aerion keeps bratting he gets mad. Calls him an idiot. But fights for him anyway, and even though he is CLEARLY disappointed he still clearly loves him, yelling “MY BOY!” as Aerion gets hit.

He stays in his room as he’s recovering even though he started what lead to the death of Baelor. And when he sees egg trying to kill him, he understands. And just gently stops him with a hug.

I wish we could know Casca’s view on her own maternity!! What does it mean to her that she has a child now?

When she was a mercenary, what thoughts did she have towards that? Would she have liked the idea of having children at some point? She was a mediaeval woman, so she would have definitely given maternity a lot of thought, as a concept. She was woke as fuck. If the eclipse hadn’t happened, she would have been pregnant normally, and I wonder how she would have handled it. Expecially because it was Guts’ child, and their union is as profound as it is simple: they needed each other in that very moment. But when he is the father of her child? Then what?

We have half an answer with griffith’s nightmare, and that is gut’s kid, but in both that scenario and our current one the focus is not on that.

Also what are your tips and tricks to manga coloring you did? I’ve been working on it and feel stuck.

Here’s how I render a manga page:

After you get you page, just add flat colours in M mode. This puts them behind the lines.

Then, create mask layers, and just render as you usually would. Making the layers masks of the M flat colours will make sure all your rendering stays behind the lines.

You can also add some polish of your own, like coloring over some lines, or darkening some points where the linework is confusing

Homophobic Casca is such a funny concept to me. Like she’s wasn’t at first, but after Guts came along she became homophobic specifically for him and Griffith and no one else. She is happy when other soldiers show affection and vulnerability but then they do it and she’s like you are MEN. Get away from eachother now.
