Hogwarts sure is quiet.
Oi Barty!Â
Finally, hello, Sirius. Glad to see someone else is living in the castle besides myself and my thoughts.
Hogwarts sure is quiet.

Bartemius Crouch Jr. talking with Death Eater Mulciber. Circa Fall 1979.Â
Don't Listen To A Word I Say | Mary & Barty.
Was that really happening? Was Barty Crouch Jr. just admitting that he fancied Mary MacDonald? Plain Mary, broken Mary, empty Mary. It had been years since she felt like that, important, treasured ⌠alive. Mary couldnât hide the emotions playing in her face, she must have been grinning like crazy, but Barty was letting his gentlemans-donât-show-emotions masquerade and Mary felt happy. She hadnât felt happy in years. She loved the way his cheeks showed the faintest of color, how he struggled with what seemed like a knot in his throat, she loved the way he wasnât afraid to let her see those little things.
Mary thought she must be blushing furiously, the way he had kissed her palm had made her feel special, she was confused and she couldnât stop thinking about Benjy Fenwick and how he was the only boy she had ever been in love with, but was she falling for Barty or was she simply feeling all the butterflies in her stomach because nobody had shown the slightest interest in her for years? She needed to sort out her feelings, she didnât want to hurt Barty, he was so sweet and caring, and Mary loved his company and their friendship and she didnât want to mess that up.
But when Barty was putting on the bracelet on her something changed. She knew in that moment that she had two options. She could run back to the castle and apologize to Barty later or she could stay. As he was letting go of her hand and taking some steps backs Mary knew it was time to decide. She smothered her dress and sat down in the blanket, she never knew what her made her stay, she just hoped she wouldnât regret it later.
Bartemius shifted uncomfortable as the fears in her head started turning wondering what to do. He didn't bother thinking of what would happen if she decided to run, to leave him standing in his tent without her there except for the lingering scent and the taste of her palm on his lips. He watched as she smoothed out her skirt taking a seat down on the blanket underneath them. Barty took the opportunity to grin, his chest swelling more and more as the moment went on that she spent with her.Â
Mulciber really did a number on Mary MacDonald. She was beautiful before she even knew it, everyone thought so. But her innocent and child-like determiner kept others from her distance. She was sweet and nice, it was hard not to like her and it was her insecurities that made boys turn the other cheeks. She probably isn't interested anyway. Mary had once been bright, blonde, and bubbly, very carefree and always looking at the bright side. She was still the same Mary only more cautions, more insecure and alone. Her beautiful blonde locks were that of chocolate brown now, her face appeared paler than before but she still remain lovely. She was in love and it wasn't with Barty, she clung to that love. It drove her inner beauty and outer beauty. Too weak to follow her gut, Barty took it to his advantage to play with her heart.
The Ravenclaw smoothed out his own pants legs sitting down next to Mary, he stretched out his legs in front of him flashing her another polite smile. Her company was nice, Barty had to admit, there was something comforting about Mary. She made you feel like everything was going to be okay, it almost made Barty regret what he was doing to do. He reached up, his index finger touching one of her curls as he inhaled a deep breath. He rested on his elbows leaning on his side as he looked up at her. She was a breath of fresh air, the relief everyone needed. Barty allowed his hand to fall at his side as he managed to tear his eyes off her.
"I've miss you," he admitted with a short scoff and a quick hand through his short hair. "I hate the Ministry, if you want my honesty, I prefer not to work for them," he said hoping to clear the awkward space between them. "You? What are you views on politics?" Barty asked with a raised brow.
