We are called to be fruitful - not successful, not productive, not accomplished. Success comes from strength, stress, and human effort. Fruitfulness comes from vulnerability and the admission of our own weakness.
ā Henri J. M. Nouwen, "The Wounded Healer: Ministry in Contemporary Society" Ā (Image; November 20, 2013) (viaĀ Alive on All Channels)
āFiction is usually seen as escapist entertainment, [but] itās hard to reconcile the escapist theory of fiction with the deep patterns we find in the art of storytelling [ā¦]. Our various fictional worlds areāon the wholeāhorrorscapes. Fiction may temporarily free us from our troubles, but it does so by ensnaring us in new sets of troublesāin imaginary worlds of struggle and stress and mortal woe. [ā¦] [This paradox] was first noticed by Aristotle in the Poetics. We are drawn to fiction because fiction gives us pleasure. But most of what is actually in fiction is deeply unpleasant: threat, death, despair, anxiety, Sturm und Drang. [ā¦] Literature offers feelings for which we donāt have to pay. It allows us to love, condemn, condone, hope, dread, and hate without any of the risks those feelings ordinarily involve.ā

Anyone else done hiding? šš»āāļø
Iāve avoided short clothing for the longest time. To say Iām not a fan of my legs is an understatement. But Iām no longer hiding them. If hundreds of squats a week won't make them smaller, I know for a fact weāre just getting stronger. š¦µš½ š¦µš½

Hyping myself up to think bright today (and hope this color palette does the same for you!) š I had been eyeing this ModCloth Barbie Collection bodysuit for days, and last Monday while I was doing my weekly work reports, I needed a little pick-me-up and went for it. So glad I did, because this one will be on repeat for a while. I loved everything Barbie back in the day, so it gave me instant joy to wear the colorful vibe.

Anyone else out there that was all about Barbie?
