Recently went to Bon Odori. It was a different location than the one that I’ve been to since I was a literal infant—and I honesty thought it was nicer.
My Yukata was “bleach tie dyed” by myself. Since I did it myself, I was able to add whatever I wanted, so I added the Telstar satellite on the back (as well as a little Saturn looking planet on the front).
I should have added more, but I didn’t have much time before the event—shameful. I do like how it turned out though.😓

Look at this wet little guy, oh my god he is so stinking cute! I can’t even😭 Did you know that Joe’s reputation of being a reclusive "inside boy" who would rather watch horror/sci-fi movies or paint than doing any physical activities, is only partially true? While he did as a kid tinker on electronic devises alone in a garden shed for hours on end, he still had a fair number of friends. And as a teenager Joe started what we would today effectively call DJing at parties (which apparently made him quite popular with the young local ladies…. oh girlies no😭, you’re wasting your energy) & to direct plays with other kids (which he allegedly more often then not wore dresses for). Apparently he also really liked & was quiet a strong swimmer.
(And as an adult he actually also was quiet social esp. in the queer community when he first moved to London, regularly visiting underground gay clubs, going cruising even more frequently (& in general allegedly being quiet direct when flirting as opposed to his usual relatively shy personality), throwing parties at his & his boyfriends slightly run-down victorian Notting Hill flat, & acquiring a reputation amongst other young queers that had fled to the capitol for helping out with money without expecting certain favours in return a lot of other (mostly older rich) gay men did. It was only five years later after he was arrested for being gay & publicly outed that he became more guarded and “unsocial”.)
Yay Max’s birthday! I love it when the silliest, and most destructive, adorable little furball is actually a 50+ year old man. It’s perfect!
I genuinely can’t believe that it’s almost been a year since I’ve drawn a full artwork of them! Shameful really.😬
For the purposes of this drawing, let’s imagine that Sam can somehow bake a Glazed McGuffin™ without exploding the entire state of New York—if not the world. I think that if Sam would be capable of baking one thing, it would be a Glazed McGuffin™ for his adorable little partner, and bestest friend, Max.😌↕️

Well there’s technically two of the albums I’m referring to—since they both are clearly taken from the same photo shoot, but are different photos, on different albums, that were released at completely different times.
The first one—simply called “Tornado Rock”—was released in August of 1963.
I believe that the only new face in this photo is who I believe to be Brian Gregg. (He replaced Tab Martin after Tab Martin temporarily replaced Heinz.)
From left to right is Roger LaVern, Clem Cattini (who is blinking😂), George Bellamy, Alan Caddy, and Brian Gregg.
They’re all just holding onto one really long sausage—in some kind of meat and cheese shop—and they all look quite delighted by it! (Except for Roger who just always kind of had a resting bitch face.)
The other one—“Remembering…The Tornados”—was a compilation of Tornados songs that were re-released together in 1976 to, well, remember them.
It’s the same lineup, in the exact same order, but this time they each have a ridiculously long sausage that they’re posing with! (And Roger looks like he’s actually smiling this time)
There’s also an uncanny drawing of some blond character who’s seemingly dreaming of the tornados. His neck is really long—which is actually scaring me a bit—but it’s also very humorous.
When I first saw it, I thought maybe it was supposed to be Heinz because I just assume any white boy with bright hair must have something to do with him…but the shape this characters hair is in is far too good quality to be Heinz.
I’ve literally never seen sausages that long, and am curious as to whom would even be buying these things! Maybe restaurants because they need to buy things in bulk? Probably Joe too because of his love of sausages…maybe they’re even last him long enough so he didn’t have to buy sausages 3 times a week like he did when he was a kid.

It’s a shame the quality isn’t as good because I take do think this is an especially good photo of him—I just adore full body shots of him, and you can take appreciate how dapper he is in his suit.
I feel like he somehow looks both tiny, and not at the same time…either way he’s being picked up and put in my pocket☺️ I’ll put some little pieces of sausage in there or something
Perhaps he saw someone with a cheese sandwich that was not fried and drowning in oil (unthinkable!!!🙀)
Or maybe the sun is in his eyes😔 me too Joe, me too. I’m unfortunately unable to wear sunglasses, and even if I was I certainly wouldn’t be able toto pull them off like him.

I am OBSESSED with how well you can see his eyebrows in this photo. They look very nice, very neat, very strong. He has the most gorgeous face. I love his nose too—also very strong—it’s a very good angle to get a good look at it.💖

oh my god this is adorable, I’m so happy to see this! He’s so precious, and endearingly awkward looking🥹I love his perfect hair, but it’s nice to see it undone a bit too sometimes, it’s cute in a different way.
What really excites me is that I actually know who that person is!! 😆😆That’s Jason Eddie (real name Ablbie/Albert Wycherley), who was Billy Fury’s younger brother! He signed with Joe in 1965, so I’m assuming this is when and what is taking place here.

I still really want to gaslight myself into believing that it’s all just hidden under his fancy suits or something…I feel like that’s a thing that happens sometimes, and again there are a few photos of him where he looks much more nicely plump, but even so that would never make him as soft as Repsch made him out to be.😢 Someone should have done something about that, maybe given him even more picnic bars…🤔🤔
