If I were to draw someone's OC with a canon fandom character (say, an ocxcanon ship), do I need to change said canon character? And how do I tag them in an attack? Is this even allowed?

Yes, you will need to make at least one visual modification to the canon character for their depiction to be allowed. See our FAQ for a list of acceptable modifications. You are also able to include them in the attack ratings form; we generally encourage users to upload their own designs for canon character. However, you may submit the OC twice on the form if the canon character doesn't have a profile.

Alternatively, canon characters can be cropped out of an attack but they may not be included in the rating. You may link to the full artwork in the description.

This is legitimately useful reframing. A while ago I started replacing the word "cop" in my vocabulary with "a man with a gun." It really puts things into perspective.

This homeless person is making me uncomfortable. Should I call [a man with a gun]?

My neighbor is having a loud party. Should I get [a man with a gun] involved?

There are some teenagers skateboarding. Do you think [a man with a gun] would get rid of them for me?

It makes it very clear what you're saying. I can call a man with a gun to threaten or hurt someone mildly inconveniencing me. You're not calling the cops, you're calling A MAN WITH A GUN into a situation that does not warrant a firearm handled by a volatile lunatic who will not be held accountable for his actions.
