i am absolutely unqualified to weigh in on this so feel free to correct me, but some of you are using the wrong honorifics in your benedict/colin fics (ie from what i've observed as canon while watching the show) and it drives me a little Insane. so

lord/lady: an earl/countess, a viscount/viscountess, a baron/baroness. the heads of a family, like lord bridgerton (anthony) and the new lady bridgerton (kate), as opposed to the dowager (violet).

mister/miss: any other family member. that means eg colin's (mister bridgerton's) wife, pen, will not be called lady bridgerton, she will be mrs bridgerton. and how eloise, francesca, hyacinth are all miss bridgerton & benedict, colin, gregory all mister.

i've seen a handful of fics where a sibling's wife is referred to as lady bridgerton and it lowkey makes my eye twitch. all love guys xx

Hey, hey, hey if you’re upset that Francesca Bridgerton is queer but you wouldn’t have been upset if it was Eloise I’m gonna need you to take a step back and think about how you view queer women (lesbians, bisexuals, etc). I’m gonna need you to think about why it’s okay if Eloise, the one who fits the stereotype of rejecting femininity and being loud about it, is queer. And why you don’t think it’s okay for the feminine and quiet woman to be queer. Do you view queer women as people or are they just stereotypes to you? Do you have a real reason why Francesca’s storyline can’t play out with a woman as her love interest or does she just become less relatable and less of a woman to you if she’s queer? It’s not wrong to want Eloise to be queer or to hc her as such. But if you’re going to turn around and say it doesn’t make sense for Francesca to be queer while being okay with Eloise and Benedict then I don’t think it’s actually queer rep or “book accuracy” that you want. You want stereotypes and someone to fetishize.
