Evelyn nodded along as Charlie spoke— each different tv show and book had different rules for magic, and so that meant that each magic user used magic differently. It was a pain, that’s what it was. A sharp laugh escaped her, and she smirked, sipping her own latte as she did so. “Easy for you to figure out what makes them tick— just read their wikipedia pages. You’ll probably find everything you need there.” She rolled her eyes as she did so, shaking her cup. It wasn’t that she disliked racters, she just liked them most of them less than she liked actual humans. And besides— most of them were obnoxious, or had problematic behaviors that the writers defended as quirks. What the hell was quirky about stalking? “And how’s your other charges? The ones not in your dorms?” Charlie needed to vent, and Eve would be lying if she said that she wasn’t amused by the level of bullshit the Riverdale racters dragged everywhere— even if it was giving Charlie stress lines that no cream could ever hide.
Charlie laughed, she’d be lying if she said she didn’t look up some of her residents on wikipedia. It definitely helped her with the sources she wasn’t as well versed in. “Isn’t that the truth. But it doesn’t help me as much with how they would interact with each other. Honestly it’s funny trying to see them try to hide a talking ferret and sneaking out windows.” Charlie loved her talks with Eve, it was some normalcy that she very much needed in her life. A long sigh escaped her before she stifled it with even more coffee. “By my count I now have at least two vampires and a magic user that isn’t Sabrina Spellman, mind you. All because of that stupid storm. If they only stayed inside it would make my life easier. But no! I have Edgar running around town creating a new type of cult just because he wants to spread his fangs, so to speak.”

PORN STUDIO? what - the - actual - fuck? “you… mean to tell me that my students.. think that i’m.. a fucking porn artist? nah, that’s bullshit, kid. what do you think i am, an idiot? i can assure you, i’m not. i’m smarter than most of the idiots here and now, i can be stronger as well. i’m a fucking vampire. i’ll kill those idiots and show them who the fuck is in charge here.” he commented, rolling his eyes at her for a moment, before sighing. “is it? what would you know about getting killed? you see, it’s this and that comment that leads me to thinking that you, my little charlie-bear.. you’re hiding something. don’t worry, though, i’ll figure it out soon enough.” he moved in closer to her, narrowing his eyes for a moment, arms crossed over his chest. “you wouldn’t.. happen to be from riverdale as well, would you? perhaps.. one of betty’s little friends? oh, no problem - i have men following her and her little friends every minute of the day, so.. if any of you tries anything - you’ll be cut down. you don’t know who you’re messing with, kid.”
"Listen I’m telling you the truth. Undergrads tend to not be the smartest sometimes. I’m not saying I believe them, just that’s what the rumor mill churns out. Plus you do tend to take your shirt off a bit too much. Honestly dude, you have to remember there’s a thing called windows and your doors tend to have them.” Charlie shrugged slightly. “Just that no one wants to get killed. You don’t have to be..whatever you say you are to know that.” She gave a fake smile, already hating the nickname he gave her. “Well I am an open book there sir. So I guess I wish you luck.” Charlie had a blank face, purposefully not reacting to his threatening advancement or name dropping. “I’m really sorry sir, I don’t know a River Vale. Is that a place?” She tried her best to be as innocent as possible, even trying to get the name wrong on purpose. “Listen I’m born and raised here in Los Angeles. All I’ve known is this city.”

“i just don’t believe in a fairy-tale ending, you know?” sabrina expressed, her fingers gently twirling the spoon in her mug as she allowed the tea bag to steep. “if they came true, it wouldn’t be like this– nothing that happened in life would’ve happened. they must just make it up, for the cliche aspect of it. or maybe to give a false hope– must be.” clinking the spoon against the cup, she removed the tea bag and placed it on a napkin. “i’m sorry– i didn’t mean to be a downer today.”
Charlie frowned, because generally she agreed but she didn’t want characters - especially a character she was supposed to look after - think that way. Plus she genuinely liked Sabrina, Charlie thought she was a good kid and she wanted to help her as much as she could. “You’re not being a downer. I promise. I honestly don’t know what I believe. I like to think there’s that happy ending for everyone. That if you are going through tough times right now it’s just because you are still in the middle of your story. There’s so much more out there for you.” Charlie said, trying her darndest to not be too on the nose.

linda had never been one much for caffeine, she was more of a herbal tea kind of gal. but since the birth of her son charlie, she’d needed an extra kick to get her started in the morning especially with her job. she couldn’t help others if she couldn’t stay awake. she orders her coffee, adjusting her glasses as she waits impatiently, mostly because she was running on empty. foot tapping against the floor until her name is called out and she forces the best smile she can manage as she’s taking the cup. not even a moment passes before she turns, nearly colliding into someone else. “-oh god, i’m so sorry.” she says as she looks down at her clothes which were surprisingly dry, thankfully, before looking to the other person. “-are you alright?”
Charlie got little sleep on a normal day - between her characters, residents, and schoolwork - but with all the weird things happening after the storm, she was practically made of coffee at this point. So it was no surprise to anyone that she was at the cafe. After ordering her cup of coffee, Charlie was looking down on her phone - some update that she knew she should care about but frankly didn’t want to mentally bother until she had her coffee - when she collided into someone. “No I’m so so sorry!” Charlie was so relieved to see that the other didn’t spill her cup or coffee. “I’m alright! I should have looked where I was going I’m so terribly sorry!”

Waverly was really enjoying this conversation, even if she couldn’t be sure how real it was. In all honesty, Waverly knew she had a good imagination but she couldn’t imagine creating someone so complex and real feeling. Charlie felt so very real, which just made things that much more confusing for her.
“Amazon really does, though unfortunately a lot of the books my family … collected were a little rarer and Amazon was no help. We just had to beg other collectors to send it to the middle of nowhere.” Waverly chuckled again. There’d been one old man who’d been desperate to get rid of some old newspapers but when he saw where he was shipping it to, almost refused because ‘why is a collector in the middle of nowhere.’ It’d been very annoying.
“I don’t know if we really had enough cows for proper cow tipping,” Waverly said. “Not near town. Way out away from most there were some bigger farms and ranches. Champ told me him and his buddies thought about it, but it was too far of a drive to be worth it.” Sometimes Waverly questioned why she’d dated Champ at all. He was at best an idiot and at worst a slightly sexist moron. But he had been sweet, and he had been decent in bed. She did once have some feelings for him. She’d questioned it once she’d realized she liked Nicole, but she definitely had been attracted to Champ at least from a sexual standpoint.
But now wasn’t the time to question that. Now was the time to make a new friend. “It’s good to meet you, Charlie. That’s an incredible last name. Sounds all regal-like.”
"Oh like an Ebay sort of thing? At least it was a shipping and not one of those meeting things that Craigslist does. I’d be worried for both parties if I had to meet someone in the middle of nowhere.” She couldn’t help but laugh. “But shipping I would hope they would be willing to send it. I’d be more curious who lived at the address given.”
Charlie listened intently, wanting to soak up everything that was being said. “I guess that makes sense. If you had the cows closer it’s less impulse control you have to have. But driving out to do it is really dedication.” She laughed, not envying the thought of boredom in small towns. “Was internet connection at least decent? Because if not I don’t think I would survive, like at all without Netflix.”
“It kind of does, doesn’t it? I would say thank you but sadly I don’t think I could really take the credit for it. But it’s nothing like sharing a last name with someone famous!” Charlie nodded at Waverly. “I’m assuming you get real tired of people pointing it out though. So I’m sorry for doing just that.”
restyourprettybones:
“His last name would be Potter if you’ve met him. I don’t know his middle name i’m afraid.” He shakes his head. “Much too young to have a kid. Lily hasn’t even told me she was pregnant. If Lily is the mom. God I hope she’s his mom.” He nods. “He’s like a second father to me.” He laughs. “I nearly exploded the whole kitchen when I was ten. It was bad.”
"You know now that I think of it I don’t think I got his last name, unfortunately. Was a bit of a brief conversation,” Charlie said, curious how easily he accepted having a son. “Well I guess congratulations are in order if you’re a dad. I hope you get to meet the kid some day.” She was earnest, it was always nice for characters who should have interacted but never got a chance have their second chances here in Los Angeles. It was one of the things she loved about the city. “Oh that sounds very bad. I assume everyone was okay though. You definitely seem in control of your powers now.”

@bcrealis(Harvey and Charlie) & @shcpcrsistcd(Harvey and Marta)
Heavy pants leaving his throat, as Harvey fell to his knees. Shutting his eyes tightly, he counted backwards, hoping this was just an in-depth nightmare he’d wake up from. The day had started pretty normally. There was no telling any of this would have transpired just hours following the rainstorm. Harvey was beginning to think his mind was messing with him. First, weeks prior he met a girl at school who seemed to know a lot more about him, insisting they had a relationship with each other, and though he had no memory of Sabrina, his heart yearned for her and all he wanted was her happiness. Similarly, for weeks now, Harvey had vivid dreams every night that felt comparable to a memory, memories he knew were not his. It was as if his mind was hiding from him. None of that was relevant now, instead, his thoughts coasted with confusion as Harvey felt his teeth expanding into fangs.
He could smell all the flesh around him. Swallowing thickly, Harvey tried not to think about it, but his concentration was on was a need for blood. His mouth began to water. “What….What….What….is going on? ” The words stammered from under his breath. Harvey hunched over, placing his hands to his head, with more heavy pants parting from the brims of his mouth. He rocked his body back and forth, trying to calm his nerves. Just maybe if he stayed like this long enough, he’d wake up from this dream. Harvey liked horror well enough but he certainly wasn’t a fanatic like his friends. If it was up to him, a horror movie would never be his first choice, but he did it for them. As the moments past, Harvey was beginning to feel as if he was living his own horror film. This couldn’t be real. No. He was deprived of sleep with cramming for exams. “ Wake up.” Once again mumbling to himself, not ever hearing the footsteps from behind him.
The more people Charlie was finding, the more she was worried for the characters she was supposed to look after. Sure she didn’t have any control over them, especially when they were specifically told not to leave during the storm, but that didn’t mean she didn’t feel responsible. Her family always went above and beyond - they didn’t just watch over their assignments, they wanted them to feel like they had another friend. And as much as they tried her sometimes, Charlie really did want a bond with them.
As soon as Charlie saw Harvey she stopped in her tracks. Crap not another vampire. She said to herself and walked forward with caution. The only thing worse than a vampire was a vampire who just realized they are a vampire. “Hey it’s okay. It’s the storm. It did some.....weird things to people. Gave powers to people it shouldn’t have. It shouldn’t last a long time but it’s okay, you’re not alone.”

“Will I ever get used to all the weird shit going on in this city?” he asked to the girl he was talking to, shaking his head as he continued to eat his kebab. “I just don’t get it” August added, mumbled due to the fact that there was food in his mouth. Sometimes it hit him just how weird this town was, like more weird than he ever could imagine.
Charlie couldn’t help but laugh. “Honey I’ve been here all my life and I still get surprised at what the residents do.” She didn’t recognize the other, which gave her some hope that maybe he wasn’t just another character. But still, she didn’t want to completely spill the beans about the town. “It definitely is a different city than what people think of when they think of Los Angeles.”
magiclvst:
SOMETHING WAS DIFFERENT – not only did the rain soak her to the bone , but a newfound surge radiated through her veins. It resembled the enlightenment of uncovering the gruesome truth of an adversary – that sort of ammunition gave you power . her hand. in her hands a wand had been snug in her closed fist. she located not far from where the diner before she ventured into the rain. she could hear someone approaching her and she jerked away to create a distance , “ back off. “ clearly her defenses were on the rise and her heartbeat accelerating in her chest, pointing the wand at the other immediately before really acknowledging who it was. the rain that poured onto the earth at a nightly hour made it very hard to really see.
When the alert message went through, Charlie knew enough of the background work of the city to realize that under no circumstances should she venture out in the rain. She didn’t know what was cooking up, but she knew something was. However she had only so much control over the Riverdale and Sabrina characters, and there was no way she could make sure they were inside. After the release message came, Charlie wasted no time in trying to find her characters and make sure they were okay. When she saw Betty she sighed with relief. Except Betty was not relieved at all. Glancing into her hands, Charlie saw a wand. “Crap of course you have magic.” She said softly before putting her hands up. “Listen it’s all going to be okay. Can we just get inside? You look absolutely soaked.”

natasha knew very well what should have happened. peter loved showing off for the people in his life that knew, so she’d seen it many times. she’d seen it in germany… she knew exactly what the kid was capable of. she also knew what quentin was capable of already even before the rain. if he’d been caught out in it… peter was screwed. she let out a sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose. “it’s the damn rain… it’s somehow taking abilities away from some and giving some people abilities that didn’t have them.” she held up the candle at eye level, focusing all of her concentration on trying to light it, her grip tightening on it until finally… finally… a flame appeared on the wick and she held it up. “among other things, i apparently have magic now… but it’s unpredictable, i don’t have a lot of control over it. i’ll get it.. and i won’t let anything happen to you, alright, kid?”
Peter looked up at her, unable to fully comprehend what she was saying. “The rain? How is that possible? It’s just water isn’t it?” He couldn’t begin to explain it from a scientific standpoint. At least with his powers he could make excuses because of the radioactivity. But this was something he never heard of before. His eyes widened as he saw her light the candle with nothing but her mind. “What?! Should I be worried that something is going to happen to me?” Peter asked, suddenly worried that she knows something he doesn’t know.

Cass watched him as he spoke— why was he relieved when she said she liked the name? Did he not have a name? Or did he really want her approval? She wasn’t sure— but the web was smart. He should meet Tim— Tim. Where was he? She nodded along as Peter spoke, the string was strong but light. He was proud of himself, as he should be. It’s a smart piece of technology. And very useful. But his blush— Peter Tingle. He was embarrassed by her question, even though she hadn’t meant to embarrass him. She’d just been confused. Still, she listened carefully as he explained how it worked— it worked like intuition? But less…intuitive? More accurate? He had to be a meta. There was no other explanation. “What about Spider Tingle— if you’re Spider-Man?”
"Spider tingle! I like that! I like that a lot.” He said excitedly. “That’s actually perfect because I was bit by a spider. It wasn’t the biggest one I’ve seen but I think it was radioactive, at least that is what they said on the tour.” Peter began to ramble, not stopping to think if she would actually care how he got his powers. “And after the bite that was when I started being able to walk on walls and have the tingle! So Spider Tingle works very well!”
volatilejoy:
This kid was so clearly new to all of this. Kate thanked every entity that might be out there that she’d found him before someone else did. Before a villain did. Because it was clear he hadn’t been to the big leagues yet. But he had potential, and that Kate would do anything to help develop. “The Riddler? Yeah, he’s from Gotham like me. Real pain in the ass. He thinks he’s smarter than everyone else, and truthfully he is really smart. But you never tell that to him.” Really, as much as the Riddler was a pain in her ass, Kate was glad she hadn’t seen any clowns yet. The Joker was going to be near impossible to deal with without Bruce (because heaven help her, Kate knew that the two of them were two sides of the same coin). And if Harley Quinn was here, well the Joker wasn’t far behind.
“Spider tingle is better than Peter tingle,” Kate said with a chuckle. “You’ve got a thing with spiders, I see. You use that in your name? Spider-boy? Spider-man?”
Probably Spiderman, because you saw vigilantes with the name girl often but boy was rarely used. There were Batgirls but never Batboys. Supergirl and Superman. Sure, there was Superboy, aka Conner, but he was a rarity. Really, Kate had stressed being Batwoman because she was no girl. She wasn’t a child. But that was beside the point.
She smiled at Peter’s words. This kid was good. His heart was there, and that was the most important thing. “The little guys need all the help we can give them,” Kate said. “And the family goes both ways. It’s why me and my team, my family try our hardest to not kill even the people working against us. Prison or mental institutes, but never death.” She paused, watching Peter for a moment. “You’d fit in well with them, with us. Really. You’ve got the same passion a lot of us have.”
The Riddler, Peter tried to jot that down to memory. He knew there probably wasn’t going to be a test on evil villains they had to fight but he wanted to be prepared just in case. “He really does seem like it, were you all able to catch him back in Gotham? What kind of puzzles and clues does he leave because I can be pretty smart too.” Peter said, already eager to help and prove his worth. It wasn’t that he was eager to fight, but he truly wanted to prove that he was worthy to be a part of her team.
“Spider tingle. Okay I think I can do that. You promise the tingle doesn’t sound too weird?” Peter asked, already trusting her opinion more than anything. “Yeah I got bit by one on a field trip so that’s how I got my powers. It was radioactive. I was thinking Spider-Man? Though not a lot of people have asked me for my name yet so it’s not concrete.”
Peter grinned as soon as he realized she wasn’t kicking him out just yet. Even if she had told him to go home, he would still be out the next day trying to fight what he knew needed to be fought. “That definitely makes sense. That is a very good rule to have. I know they say cool motive still murder but I really do think that sometimes the motive is important for why people do what they do.” He said plainly. Peter liked to believe no one was all evil, and in his personal life he always tried to give everyone multiple chances. “Well I really do look forward to meeting all of them. It does sound pretty amazing to be a part of a team like that.”

QUENTIN BECK HAD NEVER FELT BETTER THAN HE DID RIGHT NOW - HE FELT.. FUCKING INVINCIBLE. there had never been a better time to bring out the mysterio costume once again, because.. this time, well.. this time, it wasn’t an illusion - he had actual powers. GOD, HE COULD.. he could end both stark and parker with the lightening on it’s own.. and… he needed to find them. he didn’t know how long this would last - he didn’t know if it would last and so, all he had to do was close his eyes and focus, in order to track parker. he would start with him - it would be easier to kill him, since he didn’t actually know who he was, then it would with stark, who actually knew who he was by now. when he saw that the kid had lost his powers, however, quentin couldn’t help it but laugh in hysteria - how had he gotten so lucky? “tough luck, kid.” he landed down from the building he had been watching him on, before grinning. “well, it looks like you’re not going anywhere anytime soon. god, because.. we should have a chat. and by chat, i mean.. it’s about time i kill you and take my revenge, don’t you think?” he wondered.
As far as Peter could remember, he had only talked to Quentin once before. So seeing him with powers was eye opening to him. Had he always had powers? And here Peter was without his so he didn’t know how to react until he started talking. “I... no thank you.” Peter said as he tried to back away from Quentin. “I don’t know why you want revenge but I think you have the wrong person. I can help you find him......or I can just leave. You seem like you want to be alone to your thoughts.”
brokenxtragedies:
“And everything meaning what exactly?” Jen arched both of her brows, with her interest intrigued. A part of her wished Peter was talking about powers, then perhaps she wouldn’t feel so confused in all of this. Just maybe someone else would get it. But this wasn’t normal, there was no way to explain any of what was happening to her, so Peter certainly couldn’t be experiencing this as well. Jen had powers, incredible ones at that. Anyone should want this, but she didn’t. Being normal was overrated that was for certain, but this isn't’ how she wanted to be different. She was already a black female living in a society that shunned her, wasn’t that enough.
Jen’s smile spread across the lines of her lips, as the boy introduced himself. “Peter Parker, that has a nice ring to it it” Another small laugh exuded from her lips. She would much rather learn about Peter, than try to figure out who the hell she was. Some days it was like her mind was broken, or missing a huge chunk of her life. Maybe it was a sign, that she shouldn’t remember whatever she forgot. Jen had countless memories of her life In LA but after that everything just went black. Nonexistent. She knew she was missing something, just, couldn’t determine out how to retrieve it.
Peter shrugged. He truly didn’t know how to answer that question. The last thing he needed was more people finding out about his powers that shouldn’t. “It’s just been a wild couple of months and I feel more seen here than I have my whole life. People here just tend to see right through me and it’s just still surprising.” He was lucky for the friends he had made recently, but it doesn’t mean that he was shocked that so many people were finding out about his powers left and right.
Peter couldn’t help but laugh. “Honestly it does, doesn’t it? I can’t really take credit for it, not like I picked it myself.” He grinned. He always thought it was a good super hero identity, they always say the alliteration was the best kind. And he felt it was perfect now that he practically was one. He wasn’t the greatest and certainly had so much to learn, but it made him laugh a little all the same.
reblhearts:
PETER. TONY WAS RELIEVED THE KID HERE AND OUT OF HARMS WAY. at least the like or quentin beck or whatever he was calling himself hadn’t found him yet. “hey - pete.” tony had began, breathing a short sigh of relief at seeing that he was okay, but he was cut short when spiderling over here decided to try and show off. tony couldn’t judge, because that had been him for the longest time when he first became iron man, but he was taken aback when the wall sticking didn’t work and he noticed that peter was drenched from the rain. something must have happened. tony didn’t feel any different yet, except maybe a little healthier, stronger, a new moral code? but it was clear that peter’s power were temporarily out of the job. “well that’s unfortunate.” he commented. “you alright?”
Peter loved Tony, he had weird memories and had only just now realized the void of Uncle Ben’s death had left him so empty until Tony Stark showed up in his life. Peter was still trying to remember all of their time together but it still was fuzzy, he just knew they had a great bond together. “I don’t know! I had powers just an hour ago and now I can’t even do the basic stuff of my powers.”
shcpcrsistcd:
morgan had always been just fine with not having super powers. it had worked just fine for her dad for years, after all and he was renowned as one of the greatest. she didn’t want them, so this… this was annoying. though it was worth it to see the look on peter’s face as she scaled the wall. “i don’t know! i just went for a run and now i’m back and i’m…. spider woman.” she got down from the wall, shrugging her shoulders. “fine! i’ll make my own and install them into my suit anyway and i did not steal them, i was just content with my suit, thank you very much. did you not hear about the rain apparently doing something weird to people? taking their powers and giving them to other people?”
Peter frowned, he never asked for the powers but he had truly grown to love them. Sure he was far from mastering them but now without them he felt lost. “Good luck! It took me years mastering the perfect formula for them.” He stated, it was one of the things he was most proud of. “No? How would rain do something like that? So basically the rain took my power and gave them to you?” Peter tried to get caught up. “How do I get it back?”
