Oh worm?

I was debating on whether to make a mutant or a full blown parasite but I figured pulling out the big guns for a change would be fun.

Kakyoin was infected on a family trip to Egypt, and after taking care of his parents, left to find a place to settle down. As a parasite he’s polite to a sickeningly degree, and won’t pass up a meal when given the opportunity. If it wasn’t for the slime he drools, one might mistake him for human.

 So far he’s been able to avoid hunters, but we’ll see how long that lasts for.

Also yes his worm looks like a Hierophant tendril

Unstable Worm here we go

Your local DIO here since being a vampire, carries a parasite inside his body working desperately hard to take control. Although, DIO’s body works against the parasite and instead gains power from it and prevents from escaping. The worm still grows inside of him both in size and in power which DIO then absorbs. They fit together like 2 peas in a pod but also they repeal like same sides of 2 magnets. Who knows how long it will be till both DIO and the parasite imploded from all the unstable energy they hold inside one body.

“What’s that? Did you call me a bug? I’m afraid you’ll have to disappear now.” “Diavolo” is a parasite that has been plaguing Italy for quite some while. The moment he gets cornered by those pesky hunters, he disappears once more. This time, he’s finally got himself a host that will (hopefully) last a while. Diavolo runs a mafia, changing the highest ranking members into mutants for extra loyalty/security and leaving the lowest ranking members to simply scurry around as civilians. He hopes that this will be an extra layer of protection against hunters. After all, he’s grown fond of this life. He has a tendency to completely change what his host looks like to fit with what he wants. The original host was a 19 yr old guy named “Doppio”. There’s no knowing how difficult or easy it was to take control, but it has been over 14 yrs now and Diavolo has complete control over this body. He’s never met another parasite, although he does know they exist.

One last question: can mutants speak or are they silent?

Usually, in my own version of the AU, they cannot (unless they are Extra Special Exceptions).

However! Since this event is an AU all its own, I’ll say they can speak here. If you’d like to take a crack at keeping them non-verbal anyway, you most certainly can.

((That clears up a lot, thank you! That being said, does this take place roughly around the same time as DIU [Late 90s/Early 2000s]? I ask because my character is a veteran of The Gulf War, and I want to be sure whether he's in my timeline a rookie or slightly more skilled in terms of dealing with supernatural threats [an idea I had was in place of his stand-centric backstory, he simply hunts down cryptid-esque mutants before the more widespread bug outbreak].))

Hmm, I deliberately kept the timeline vague so as to incorporate all characters from all parts without too much hassle, but, I’d sayyyy--

In terms of technology, and whatnot, I’ll say that it takes place in the 2010s, but for people w/canon characters and characters with set ages, you don’t have to age your characters up or down to match--simply feel free to drag and drop them into the appropriate timeframe, as it is!

I just figure smartphones would be pretty handy in this setting ahahah~.

((Hi, I'm interested in playing a civilian in this BD, but I'm unsure of what else aside from Hamon exists in this JJBA AU when it comes to rewriting my muse's backstory. Can you clarify if stuff like The Stone Mask, Vampires or Pillarmen still exist? [Sorry if an ask is not a convenient form of communication, for some reason I can't message this blog.]))

We prefer asks for communication!

Vampires/pillar men/etc., for the sake for simplicity, do not exist in this AU. Everyone in this au is human, mutant, or parasite! If you’d like, though, you may definitely have your muse become a bug that has vampirelike qualities (say, a mosquito hybrid), or be a parasite who has mutated their host’s body to be more blatantly monstrous. Feel free to be as creative as you’d like within the structure!

                                     Parasite AU Event!

                                (running from Oct 27th to Nov 3rd)

         (a limited special adaptation of @kousakukawajiri’s parasite au)

The concept is simple! In this universe, there exists a species of parasitic “worm” that takes over a human host and dwells within it, destroying the host’s mind and using the body to consume other human beings in order to survive. Even worse, said creature also has the ability to “infect” other humans with pieces of itself, turning them into half-human/half-bug mutant hybrids. Awful!

Fortunately for the rest of humanity, these bugs can be hunted down and subdued with hamon, this universe’s primary form of pest control when it comes to these parasitic monsters. The Speedwagon Foundation employs and trains these bug hunters, supplying them with personalized hamon channeling weapons to match their battle styles, and sends out their members to take care of this underground threat across the globe.

In this event, you have four options for what sort of role you can have your character play!:

Parasite - The big guns. Parasites are the parasitic worms themselves, capable of taking over a body and making their own mutants. They have no special capabilities beyond being grotesque maneaters and their mutant creating powers.

Mutant - An unfortunate everyday citizen turned into a half-bug/half-human hybrid. However this manifests is completely up to you! They are loyal to parasites and will do anything to protect them. A mutant may be healed by a hamon healing specialist and reverted back into an ordinary human. They might even say thanks!

Bug Hunter - Dudes and dudettes from the Speedwagon Foundation who have been taught the hamon skills necessary to kill parasites and cure mutants. Some specialize in healing, some specialize in combat, and some can do both (though those are rare people and generally the old masters). Grab a weapon and get out there, recruits!

Civilian - An average everyday joe-schmoe who has no clue what’s going on (or maybe they do). At risk to become an infected mutant or an unfortunate host for a parasite of their very own. Do your best!

All JoJo ask blogs are welcome, including OCs and stands (feel free to make them human for this event--or bug, if you will. Regular stands do not exist in this universe). The event is meant to be very loose and open world, with the only rules being common sense (no godmodding, no being mean ooc, tag your nsfw and other triggers as necessary) and have fun!
