"Life imitates art"
I just had a revelation.
When Oscar Wilde said "Life imitates art" he was saying that art, like the divine, is an ideal, just like how Descartes argued that since humans are imperfect, we must have a perfect cause of which we are an image, and that perfect cause is God. And with "Life imitates art", art is the perfect cause, our ideals/fantasies by which we desire to live our lives but cannot because we a tragically inhibited from being perfect and void of all moral consequences
