I’m so glad that we have this CG of Shin smiling after learning to trust the group and disregarding the scarf Sou gave him. It’s so great that nothing bad is happening in the CG at all.

Two years ago I thought this blog was the peak of my writing.
Now I need to rewrite all of my drafts because I've outgrown that writing style.
I'm feeling very much "Despite everything, it's still you," in this Chill's tonight.
I think it’s underrated information that Alice likely wrote the songs for Reko’s band, at least until the murder incident.
It adds another layer to why she couldn’t sing songs from her former band after Alice was convicted. They were his songs, and that’s why she couldn’t get them out.
Personally I would really like to know more about the aftermath of the difference in Reko and Alice’s song writing. In the YTTD universe is one era of Reko’s music considered significantly better than the other? Are Reko’s fans frequently on message boards debating which which sibling is the better song writer? Or did she write songs so similarly to Alice that it’s not a discuss because you can’t really tell? I would love to know!
Super duper late to this, but I’m glad you’re doing okay! Glad you have a 1% survival rate instead of 0%. I’m glad you’re doing better, get some water when/if you see this and be kind to yourself <3
I move my legs a lot when I sit so my shoes come flying off my feet sometimes. Well, today I did that so intensely I lost my shoe. It apparently fully rolled under the chair I was sitting on, and when I went behind the chair to check, I tripped over my own Croc.
So heavy on the 1% survival rate. However, I have drank a lot of water today and I'm doing otherwise okay. Thank you! Be kind to your self too.
It’s kinda curious how Keiji is the one to point this out.
If the dialogue didn’t have a name tag, you could easily assume it was from Shin based on the way it’s trying to bring Sara’s number to group attention.
But nope, it’s Keiji who calls this out, and I find that to be weird. Let me explain!
I don’t think Keiji is wrong for bringing this up. He needed to address it at some point, and it is odd how high Sara’s percentage is compared to the others. However, I am surprised that he decided to call this out in a group setting, where his words could draw the suspicion of the other’s.
That begs the question: Why was Keiji willing to keep quite about Shunsuke’s victim video, but not the rates on a piece of paper? It makes me wonder if he knew something about the percentage that he felt needed to be addressed.
Overall this scene just feels....weird to me in a way I can’t quite pinpoint. I don’t know if I’ve just analyzed this game to much, and now I’m overthinking things, but to me this sets off some kind of plot relevant alarm.
As for this blog: I don't think I'll run like I was anytime in the near future. My YTTD hyperfixation is still pretty gone despite the fact that it's still a media I really enjoy! Though I do have some drafts that I may touch up and bit and post here and there for the sake for it.
If anyone wants to get in connect with me outside the blog, since I don't know how often I'll be on here, feel free to send me a DM and ask for my Discord. That's what I mostly use these days.
I don't know when the next time I'll show up is, but it'll be sometime!
See you later. :)
Really long story short, had a mental and physical health episode at a time where my YTTD hyperfixation was already wanning, stopped posting on this blog because of it. Didn't think anyone would notice.
As it turns out a lot of people noticed and were basically putting up missing flyers throughout the fandom.
So.
Uh.........
Oops......
I'm sorry that I branded myself as a Shinnie so hard that people had to worry that I had the same survival statistics as him.
No, but humor aside, I really am sorry for freaking anyone out. It was genuinely really sweet to see how many inbox/DM messages I had checking on me. Thank you to anyone who reached out for thinking about me. Life update: I'm in college for computer programing now!
....I'm really never beating the "just Shin IRL" accusations.
After two years I still think Shin Tsukimi is gay.
If the element of surprise is important, then it seems like the group is on their way to escape.
During 3B, Sou is disappointed he can’t get Sara to snap. He expected her to be this ruthless killer who would take out her allies with no qualms, but instead, she was the groups caring leader. And even if we’re talking about the logic route, Sara decides that she doesn’t want to be a monster after what happened to Alice/Reko. She chooses to be good and do good in the future, which is a defiance of how she acted in the AI simulation.
And she’s not the only being defiant. Everyone is unified still, especially on the emotion route. Their bonds haven’t been broken by bloodshed, and that might be there biggest advantage as they were expected to be killing each other by now.
I have a lot of hope for the group escaping on at least one route. Hopefully they’ll continue to not meet the floormasters expectations.
I think it’s notable to Shin’s character that, despite his rush to escape, he still gave Gin and Sara time to say goodbye to the AIs.
The AIs should have been a low priority in this scene. The group needed to move before they were caught, and I'm sure Shin knew this since he's always been well aware of his morality. Yet, he paused so Sara and Gin could have peace of mind, even if that peace of mind was saying goodbye to a program that wasn't real.
Shin is such a good character, and I don’t buy his “I don’t care about anyone in this group” act for a second.
Beanieman! Did you get anything for Christmas?
Yes! I got a weighted teddy bear that is perfect for cuddling on a cold winters night.
I also got real dagger.
This is a very bittersweet moment.
For a fleeting moment, Shin is no longer the weakest man in the death game. Nor is he a threat that needs to be treated with the same caution as a rabid dog. Instead, he’s a leader who marches everyone from the death game and to what is assumed to be safety. Here, he gets what he wanted in the first main game, to be a valuable member of the group that everyone is counting on.
He also takes what would be assumed to be Sara’s place by walking in front. She’s not the leader in this scene. Rather, he is. For a single scene, he gets to be what she is.
That’s why it’s such a punch in the gut that it was all fake. Shin only got to pretend for a moment, and then was flung back into the reality that he was never supposed to be the strong who led them from the death game.
Anyway, I really like the symbolism of Shin getting to walk up front for this scene. He really was leading the group for a split second there.

Playing BG3 at 2AM. I finished my normal playthrough, so now I'm seeing what the dark urge path is all about. And Alice (My cat) is helping.
Man you know those stupid kid movie things where some kids tease another kid about having a crush on someone? I'm getting notifications from Tumblr saying stuff like "your tumblr crush BeanieMan has posted something new" and like. I enjoy a lot of your analyses and stuff, so I guess that's why I was getting that notif. But what a Shin Kinnie experience.
The only thing worse than being a Shinnie is being forcibly assigned a crush on one by Tumblr.com.
what if shin actually figured out the password to kai's laptop right away but the reason he didnt see anything before it died was because he checked his tumblr and took too long
I hate this ask.
Not because you said anything wrong. The mental image is hilarious.
But because this is unfortunately very me coded.
I do find it funny that in most fandoms, a lot of people are misogynist to the point that they'll be unwilling to forgive a female character for doing the same thing as a man, yet in the YTTD fandom, the reaction to the escape endings were initially -
Sara And Nao: "We have escaped the death game by killing everyone else!"
The Fandom: "Good for you two! Y'know, I really wish you luck and healing out there. 🥰"
Q-Taro: "I have escaped the death game by killing everyone else!"
The Fandom: "I want him obliterated."
Y'all are really beating the worst of the fandom stereotypes. Good for you.
While I disagree with Q-Taro emotionally, logically, he’s not wrong.
It’s not like Q-Taro drop-kicked Gin wearing an “I hate kids” tee shirt to get his tokens, which is what some people acted like he did before 3B came out. He played the game by doing attractions, offering his strength to trade tokens, and making deals. That’s fair within the rules of the bartering game. In fact, the other participants could have done the same; they just chose not to.
If we look into Q-Taro's mind, he knows that someone will die during the next main game, and he doesn't want it to be him. In his mind, if one person can make it home, why can't it be him? Most would agree that the kids should be the priority in a situation like this. However, just because Q-Taro is an adult doesn't suddenly mean his will to live is gone. I can't totally fault him for having self-preservation, as it can be scary to stare down death regardless if you're ten or a hundred.
Again, I don’t love what he does in the vending machine ending. Yet, his actions make sense if you look at them through a logical view rather than an emotional one. Which, I think is interesting! It ties in well with the core themes in the game, and what happens when a more logical person is faced with death.
