Bear nodded hurriedly. “Yes, Daddy. I’m okay. I just- I wanted you to know how much you’re loved. I know in the beginning I was really broken and you helped to fix me and make me whole again. I fought you some of the way, but you never gave up on me and I’m so in love with you for that, Aidan.” There were only a few times he actually called his boyfriend by his first name, serious times mostly. He took a deep breath because either this was now or he’d get to nervous to do it later. He reached into the drawer and pulled out the little, black box. “I know it’s soon and you probably wanted to wait a little longer, but I want to spend the rest of my life showing you how thankful I am that you love me and hopefully making you feel just as loved. Aidan Harding, will you marry me?” Bear got out, not realizing that he had tears streaming down his cheeks. He let out a shaky chuckle as he looked at Aidan, hoping he wasn’t the only one feeling like this.

Aidan had thought for one terrifying, heart-stopping moment that Bear was going to break up with him. And then his lover kept talking. He was taken aback by the use of his name instead of the sweet things his love normally called him, but he let the younger man keep going, one elegant eyebrow lifting up of its own accord at the sight of the little black box. So, it’s all edible.” He giggled as he pulled the tray up next to them. He plucked a grape from the bunch and held it for Aidan to eat. He didn’t even know where to begin. He was so damn nervous. “So, uh, I’m so glad we’re together, you know? I’m glad I finally went on that date with you all those months ago.” He internally berated himself for sounding so dorky.

Aidan laughed, rolling atop his love and catching his lips in a series of playful kisses. “You’re so cute, Baby Bear. I love you, my angel.” He was definitely hungry, though, so he rolled them back over and let his boyfriend feed him a grape, giving the younger man a grin, which soon faded when he saw how nervous his love was. He kissed Bear on the forehead gently. “I’m glad, too, Beautiful. Is everything alright?”
