am i even here?
I get this asked from time to time so here’s a quick reminder about how to create an animated GIF from a Processing sketch:

So personally I do it like this:

one additional gif creation tool for Mac users who aren't comfortable with the command line is GifFun. it doesn't offer as much control over gif attributes as gifsicle, but it gets the job done. one pointer if you decide to use it: the conversion settings are in two different places. the GUI has an "Options" button, which offers some settings, but there is also the Preferences dialog which offers the same settings plus the frame delay setting.

the prior 4 gifs combined, 'cause i think it looks cool to see them all together :-) they differ in terms of number of points and frame capture rate (which affects rotation speed). rotation speed is also tweaked by the inter-frame delay in the gif animation.
