We have less than two weeks to go before our epic relaxation ends and I wanted to share one of my favourites things about South Africa - The Stoep which, by definition is a set of steps or small porch to the front of the house, but in reality can often be a whole outside room dedicated to relaxation (yes please!). . As I grow older I’m finding my tastes evolving and where I used to love original sash windows and old stone cottages I’m now drawn to damp proof courses and water proof roofs? I’m definitely hankering after a more contemporary structures which allows for open plan living. I totally appreciate that this is not a new concept but I’ve always been such a purist for originals so this has totally taken me by suprise! I actually feel my design preferences have taken a complete 360.......Please share your experiences, I’d love to know how usual this is. .
