“Hmm...” Bea tilted her head, gaze shifting between the two dresses. “Depends on what you want them for. If you want to look all regal, then violet, if not and you want to make your eyes pop, then go for the teal one.”

“More soldiers?” Bea wondered, watching the military truck fly down the street. “At this point you’d think we’re actually hiding a being from another planet.” A touch of sarcasm coated her words; never one to believe there were aliens hiding amongst them. “Can you believe this? --Anyway, what can I get you started with?”

“Wow!” Jen exclaims, motioning with her hands. She spins, taking her time to fully survey her surroundings. She had been here before. Many times, in fact. But only now was she able to fully soak in what was here. Here or outside of the realm of the normal, per say. “This place is like, pumping with apparitions,” The dark-haired girl states, her eyes as wide as quarters. Though it was hard to tell through her smeared black eye makeup. Racoon eyes, as her mother would say. “Don’t you feel it?”

“Did you have too much Bacciform Firkin?” The question flew past her lips before she had a chance to stop them. Apparitions? That was some sort of crazy talk. “All I feel is the need to buy this watch and not listen to this gibberish.”

“Does the mayor usually stalk children’s football games?” Bea asks, a tilt to her head as she leans against the fence. “’Cause this is looking a little strange to me.”

“don’t worry. i covered for you. said you had issues with a red plumbob and couldn’t come in until later. boss said they’d let it slide this time. you owe me, but i won’t make you do anything too embarrassing.”

“I could kiss you right now!” Bea smiled, making her way behind the counter to grab her apron. “If you embarrass me our friendship will not be looking as pretty as it is looking right now.”

Born and raised in Strangetown. 

Bea was raised by a single father after the woman who birthed her left them for a different life and family. Which turned out to be quite the conundrum when she found out where her mother had been hiding the whole time. Was she not good enough? She’d find that to be the case soon enough when Mr. Sharp took disappointment after disappointment from his daughter. 

At 16, when finding out about her mother, Bea broke into rebellion that had her falling back at school, staying a couple grades behind, partying long nights and who knows what else the girl got to? All the while being one of the popular kids in school. 

Where her father expected a college degree in anything that made money, Beatrice barely finished high school and immediately needed to work to maintain a lifestyle that she could barely afford. Why? All to impress anyone and everyone surrounding her, for Bea wasn’t one to let herself be outshined by someone else. 

She manages to do her job well enough, and with the help of a friend she’s able to get anything and everything she wants.
