I was thinking about emotional depth in a relationship.

The absolute rarity of this and how we search for it.

I believe that it falters in two distinct manners.

If one is emotionally incapable of reaching that depth, or if one is terrified of achieving it.

The biggest challenge we face in life is love.

The not only searching, finding and building, but the longevity of.

At what point does a relationship rupture? I believe it is the finality of daily tiny ripping that leads to an ultimate shredding.

Are we built to become disenchanted? I believe the human ego's need for constant uplifting causes an eye to wander.

Is longevity in a relationship natural or expected? It takes two to create a relationship and one to end it.

Have you ever tasted unrequited love? The aftermath which leaves you moonscape barren. That years later you can't quite seem to reconcile how you walked willingly upon that ledge. Which begs a question, is unrequited love a level of conscious unconsciousness? Aware, but completely blinded to reality.

One can fall into bed with technical skill. It's fast and shallow and void of deep emotion. Love is the ultimate path and the most misunderstood or feared. Many never separate love and lust, often confusing the two. Love takes time and dedication. Lust is instant gratification. Ultimately there is nothing sexy about the inevitable pain of lust.

I just noticed this! Apparently it's my 15 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳

Unbelievable that this originally started as a place to stash images that were jamming up my pc.

I flew under the radar for a few months.

One image touched me and I just wrote something, unexpectedly posting it.

A day later, I had something called a "reblog" and a follower.

It just 'Tumbled' from there. Images and words pouring very late into the night.

And 15 years later not much has changed. Music, images and thoughts.

But it's not solely about me.

It's about all of you, including the many of the pre Tumblr purge in 2018.

Lives touched. Conversations engaged.

Amazing people that I never expected, all of whom touched me so deeply.

A huge thank you for still being here, for reading, reblogging and engaging.

I remain grateful and thankful for each one of you.

I will say that sex ruins the beginning of love. There are so many levels to bond with, prior to complicating a beginning with sex. Most people confuse sex with love.

Love is the tender part.

You've got to enjoy one another completely, build an amazing foundation for an amazing relationship. By the time you fall together sex will be effortlessly natural. The outgrowth of emotional bonding prior to physical.

To take a relationship to a different and incredible level. A genuine pairing of two who view the long term, not the instant. Longevity of emotion. Emotionally mature enough to fall in love, prior to falling into bed.

Sex before genuine feelings complicates everything

To the point that a relationship that is just beginning and should develop, instead implodes.

Love is sacred. Sex is fleeting.

Wouldn't this be amazing?

A summer of love and peace.

Instead we're living in a world that's shredding at the seams on every level. I can't help but think about what has impacted all of us environmentally.

Hazy orange choking skies across New York, the product of wildfire smoke from Canada.

The only real change will come when people join together for love, peace and global health for our planet. That should be like a tsunami on everyone's horizon to flood our lives.

If there's anything that we all need more of it's love, peace and healing for our planet.
