No, no I'm sure it's not your fault.  Just a bit of dreams colliding.  The witch in my dreams is always melted with a bucket of water.  It's just coincidence.  It has to be. [rubs the bridge of her nose] God, my head is throbbing.

Melting, yes. Why? I mean, this is going to sound crazy and actually it kind of is because logically this wouldn’t make a person melt… to my knowledge. It’s just a bucket full of water.

That’s awful. I’ve been having dreams like that too, actually. I mean, not with the witch hunt exactly, but I have dreams that I sink into the floor, and it’s almost like I’m melting. But someone ends up pulling me from a door and I’m safe. But even though that’s the case, I’m always running from something and leaving someone important behind…

I can imagine how something like that might be frightening. But you weren’t the one being hunted, were you?

No...no I wasn't.  I can't remember who was being hunted.  It was someone I knew, though.  Or felt like I knew.  And I knew they didn't deserve to be hunted.  So it wasn't just frightening it was also stressful.  I started grinding my teeth.

Oh, you’re definitely not the only one! I wonder what that means? Moving around in bubbles sounds pretty unusual for a dream. *shrugs shoulders* My daydreams have pretty much consisted of me being underwater and hearing my late mother and sister talking. Weird, huh? I wish I could have Archie tell me what it means, but he hasn’t been much help.

I've been meaning to look up dream meanings but I've never really had the time or drive to.  Those are better than the scary ones, I think, just hearing people talk.  You can breathe underwater in your dreams, though, right?

Oh thank God! I was scared I was the only one getting weird dreams!  The bubbles are like how I move around in the dream.  I come and go by bubble and it's really weird but nice.

No, no, it's fine.  It's nothing frightening.  It started out as just bubbles and dances, which is fine.  But lately it's been a lot of witches and guns being pointed at me.  And a yellow-brick road.  It's weird.

Well, there are the strange things happening around town like the fire and Graham's miraculous recovery, and then there are the strange things happening behind closed doors.  It seems everyone in town is getting strange dreams at one time or another and it's my turn at bat.

Changed for the better, yes.  It'd be much better to be your friend than to loathe you.  Which I only did a little bit when I first started volunteering at the shelter.
