I Swear It Wasn't Like This Before (peaksp1der)
Shit.
Makishima burrowed further against his pillows, holding the gravure magazine he was reading closer to his chest - just in case Toudou came in to grill him.
"Eh?" he called back, lining his voice with the usual irritation a chat with Toudou required. "How should I know? I never go in your room." Which for the most part was true, except for today.
Makishima never minded too much about being compared to bugs - especially spiders, since “Peak Spider” was a much cooler nickname that Toudou’s “Sleeping Beauty.” Yet, when confronted with an actual spider, Makishima’s nerves weren’t always as calm and collected as he hoped them to be. At first it was all good, an unspoken respect between human on bed and spider on ceiling - until the damn thing decided to descend and crawl all over him.
Ultimately, the fiasco ended with a broken shelf and a lost spider stalking it out in the dark corners of Toudou’s room.
He rolled his eyes and carried the hedgehog with him into Makishima's room to confront his roommate. He would have put his hands on his hips if it wasn't for the small critter that he had to hold since he had yet to set up the cage properly. "Maki-chan!" he called from his spot in the doorway. "The shelf wasn't broken when I left earlier!"
Toudou shifted his weight between his feet and stared down the peak spider that he lived with. Nothing seemed like it was out of place or anything, but suspicion still lingered.
"Did anything happen while I was gone, Maki-chan?" he asked curiously.
