     It had been a few days since Beckett had arrived in Kokomo and he had no luck of finding Olivia. He wondered if he should give this all up; she was either doing an amazing job hiding from him or she really didn’t want to be found. He was doing some grocery shopping for his hotel room at the local grocery store when he couldn’t find a certain ingredient. Pushing a cart along, Beck stopped the first clerk that he saw and asked, “Hi. Do y’all happen to have any sugar cane?”

Setting: The Kokomo Theater

     Beckett was used to small towns. When he got a lead from someone that Olivia might be in some strange Midwestern town called Kokomo, he didn’t quite know what to expect. Especially being from the South, he was somewhat nervous to just go around town and ask people if they knew her, but he figured he had to start somewhere. He saw a few people gathered around the outside of the local theater and tapped someone’s shoulder, someone who was alone. “Hi,” he said lowly for a moment before clearing his throat; he couldn’t mask that southern drawl. “Do you happen to know someone by the name of Olivia Dixon?”

Sofia followed him to his car, glancing over at him when he complimented her. “Thank you. You look nice too.” she said with a slight shrug. “I love heels, they make a woman feel sexy.”

       He opened the passenger door for her before heading to the driver’s seat and starting to drive towards the theater. “Not only feel, but look, too,” he responded with a chuckle, looking over to Sofia for a moment. “So, I still don’t know that much about you. Where are you from?”

Sofia shook her head, “No it’s fine, we can grab a bite to eat afterwards with drinks.” She said walking out of her home, shutting the door behind her. Now she was starting to think she felt too overdressed for the movies. She locks the door behind her and turns to him. “Let’s just go.”

     Joey was a little worried that he had upset her about the plans, but decided not to think too much about it. “Well, alright then,” he said, giving her a shrug before leading her over to his car. “You look gorgeous, by the way,” he mentioned, looking over his shoulder at her with a smirk. “Heels were a nice touch.”

Sofia blew at her nails some more to dry them or they would smudge if she had touched anything. She sat around in her room in her robe as she had finished pampering herself up and getting ready for tonight with Joey. Once they were dry, she walked into her closet and slipped on a short, black fitted dress and heels. She applied her favorite red lipstick then looked at herself in the mirror. When she heard a knock on the door, she grabs her bag and headed for the door. She opened the door and saw Joey standing in front of her. “I thought we were doing dinner?”

      She looked absolutely gorgeous and there was no doubt about it. But heels, to a movie? He took her for a glamorous girl for sure, but-- oh. Was he really that forgetful? “Damn,” he said, shaking his head. “You’re right. Well, shit. Maybe we could do a quick dinner and then the movie, then drinks after? Unless you’ve got a busy schedule.”

     After spending a rather exhausting day at work, Joey looked at his watch, realizing that there was only about an hour until his “not-so” date with Sofia. He decided to go home and take a shower so that he was fresh and looking decent (not that he was never looking decent), but just so that he could change clothes too. He showered for about ten minutes before getting changed into something casual-- not too fancy, since they were just going to go watch a movie. He decided to check his watch one last time before heading towards Sofia’s place. About fifteen minutes later, he arrived at her doorstep and knocked, waiting patiently for her to come out. “Hey,” Joey said, once Sofia stepped out. “I got us tickets to Wedding Crashers at 7.”

Sofia took his phone and puts in her info into it then hands it back. “My house obviously. One more thing, no getting handsy. Got it?”

    “Now I’m really offended,” Joey said, shoving his phone into his pocket. “You really think a guy like me would get handsy? Maybe I’ll flirt and say a few inappropriate things, but I would never get handsy. I’ve got some dignity.”

Sofia bit the inside of her cheek and sighed quietly. She wasn’t really an uptight, taking life too seriously kind of girl. She was just having a hard time trusting people. “Dinner with drinks, no movie. And it’s not a date.”

    “Sounds fine to me.” Joey nodded, then reached out for his cellphone. He opened it up for her to input her contact info in and held it out to her. “I’m gonna have to text you later, I need to know where I’m picking you up,”

“I’m sorry, but has the last half hour not give you any signs that i’m not interested?”

   “Ooh, burn. My bad-- thought we were getting somewhere, that’s all.”

“This sounds like you’re asking me out on a date.” she stated with a raised brow.

    “Wow, your hearing is spectacular,” Joey retorted with a smirk. “Yes, I am asking you on a date.”

“I don’t even want to know where it goes at all.” she scrunched up her nose. “Like?”

     “Maybe dinner at Ruby’s then a movie afterward?” Joey suggested with a shrug, slightly intrigued that the girl was even considering it.

“It’s really not that funny.” she commented. “I did but i thought you were smart enough to know i meant a degree when talking about college.”

    “Oh, sweetheart. I’m very intelligent, my mind just tends to be in other places sometime,” Joey said matter-of-factly, sending the brunette a smirk. “Speaking of other places,” he said, crossing his arms over his chest, “Why don’t we go do something sometime?”

“Bachelor degree you idiot.” She rolled her eyes at him, shaking her head frustrated. “I seriously can’t believe you thought i meant a sugar daddy.”

    “Oh, shit. Sorry babe,” Joey said, breaking out in a laugh. “But are you sure? I could’ve sworn you said bachelor only. Like I said, I won’t judge.”

“Excuse me? Me rely on some sugar daddy? You think that is what i’m going to rely on? where the hell did you even get that idea?”

     “Whoa, just take it easy,” Joey said, snickering. “You’re the one who said you were gonna find a bachelor or something. You just gotta put two and two together. But hey, listen-- I don’t blame you or judge you. It’s a hard life out there.”

“What’s with the sarcasm?” She questioned, crossing her arms. “I don’t want to tell you after that response.”

    “Oh, c’mon,” Joey said with a scoff. “I don’t mean anything by it. I was just thinking that... I dunno, a girl like you with so much drive and charisma shouldn’t be relying on some sugar daddy to rocket her off into her dreams. Just saying.”

JOEY O'CONNOR often hears that he look(s) like LOGAN LERMAN. HE is a 23 year old living in WILCROFT POINT. Currently, he is an ARCHITECT. His friends say that the can be INTELLIGENT and CONFIDENT, but sometimes he can also be COCKY and INSENSITIVE.

Joseph Elliot O’Connor, or Joey for short, was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland until about the age of five when his family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born into a rich family of businessmen and women, executives and CEOs, ya-da ya-da. His three older brothers often followed the footsteps of their father, who was the head of their family business-- a brokerage firm-- while Joey threw caution to the wind and took on architecture during college.

Growing up, he was always a bit of a troublemaker, and was always in the middle of mischief. He was the main prankster of his high school, but maintained decent grades, and was even elected to be the class president during his senior year. On top of this, Joey was the star forward of his school’s soccer team during all four years of high school. Needless to say, Joey’s dashing looks, charm, good grades, and athleticism worked him high up in the social ladder from a young age. Not to mention, his wealthy status caught the eye of many girls, and Joey developed into one big flirt by the end of his freshman year.

Although most of the time, his flirtatious ways were harmless, Joey had a difficult time settling down with a girlfriend. He had a few here and there, but their relationships ended within a few weeks due to the fact that he simply wasn’t a fan of commitment. Joey has never been the type to stick to something other than architecture because of his fear of settling. His father had always been tough on him and grew distant with him because he wanted Joey to become a stock broker, just like the rest of his brothers-- but Joey didn’t want to settle.

He went to college at IU-K. At 24, Joey is fresh out of college and currently living in Manhattan, New York, where he runs his own architectural firm. His wealth and charisma have gotten him this far in life, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will push through with the new commitment of his business.
