of course, dilly being a young adult can only mean one thing:

              GENERATION 2 HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!!

but life can’t stop, as much as i think the family would have liked a little more time with sunny.

and with dilly, who’s officially become a young adult AND been accepted to ncu!

since she loved to spend time outside with the chickens, that’s where we’ve buried her. plus, that way the family will get to visit her every day when they do the animal care.

and of course, dill’s happiness about one friendship was immediately offset by the ending of another.

maira: why wouldn’t i? because of my idiot brother?  dilly: kinda. and your mom. maira: look, he can be as much of a misogynist as he wants, that’s not my problem. and my mom wouldn’t know a good relationship decision if it bit her. they can cry about you breaking baby imran’s heart all they want, but you’re still my best friend and i know you made the right choice. dilly: good, because i wanna meet new people but like...not without you, you know?

hazel: between you and me, he does stink a little but he can’t help it, being a boy and all. but i was thinking...since i don’t stink and you don’t stink and you’re moving away soon, maybe us non-stinkies could hang out together? dilly: does hanging out together mean going to the new pumpkin patch you’ve been begging mom and dad to go to? hazel: maaaaybe?
