EXISTENCE

1 – Something exists 2 – Nothing cannot create something 3– Something must have always existed. What's up tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter. It's been a minute since I've blogged. Lately I've been in deep thought about our existence, purpose, and proof that God exists and the fact that we didn't come from some cosmic explosion evolving over time. The first thing that I want to talk about is existence. How did we get here? It amazes me that to this day no one has figured this out. Some scientist think we evolved from organisms and others think we evolved from monkeys. I'm not a scientist by any means(not close) but I would pose four questions. 1. Why do we as humans have a conscience and other species/animals don't? Example:(If you leave a chocolate cake out while your out and about your dog will probably eat it. Let's say you punish him. Let's say you do the same exact thing tomorrow.. There is no way that dog is sitting there saying...hmm I wonder if I should eat this or not because I might get in trouble. I'm %100 percent sure he will eat it again. We as humans are completely different. We have a clear conscious. Once we know something is wrong we are going to think about it before we act. We weigh the positives and negatives & whether consequences will follow if we do wrong.) 2.Why do we long for SOMETHING to eternally fill that empty void in our hearts? (We look for things like spouses, money, cars, adventures, vacations, etc to fill a void that only God can fill. God designed us this way..think about it..if anything else of this world could fill that void it would make that object or person GOD. We can only be satisfied by the one who created us. If you created something why would you allow something else you created to satisfy it?) 3. Why do we care about significance & purpose? (Out of every species that's on this earth why are we the only one that cares about significance & purpose? We as humans always wants to be apart of something to feel significant or apart of something that has a purpose behind it. Whether it's playing for a team, being apart of a committee, joining a car club, dance team, playing Rec league basketball. I could go on all day but you get the point. That's because God put this in our hearts hoping that we would Live & Die for his purpose and understand that we are already significant in his eyes!) took me the longest to realize this. 4.Why do we want to be loved? & what is love? (When I look at things like Facebook abs Instagram or when I hear a song they are basically screaming I WANT TO BE LOVED! No matter what the song or show is about if you dig deep enough when you get close to the roots you realize that person just wants to be loved. Would you like to know where love came from? God is love. Not the kind of love we think about but a sacrificial love. The kind of love that sends his ONLY son to die for people who might not ever believe in him. He knew that we might not believe and he still sent his son to die. With that being said if God does not exist then love is just some chemical reaction that we feel. It's no longer love. The next thing to think about is how something can create nothing. I'm going to keep this very basic. I want you to go into a empty room, cut off the light, hold out your empty Palm while trying to create something in you mind. I didn't use this analogy to be funny by any means I just want those reading this that it is impossible for something to come from nothing. Meaning something has to create that something and that something always existed. Something that we can't and never will be able to wrap our mind around orchestrated everything. They something being GOD. I hear people say "I need proof to believe" the complexity of this universe is enough to believe! Look how complex even this earth is. It blows my mind. Did you know if the universe was one degree to the left of the right we wouldn't exist? How do you explain that? I really wanted to take tonight to write this so people would ponder our existence. There is plenty of more I would like to dive into and points I want to make but I will save those for another day. OUR CULTURE

I've been pondering this for the past couple of weeks. I think that now is a perfect time to speak on this topic because I feel it is very pertinent to the times that we live in today. I want to discuss how our culture is obsessed with how many intense adrenaline filled experiences one can accumulate over ones lifetime. Our culture is so obsessed with short- term pleasures that never satisfy. Think about how when you post a picture on Instagram and you sit there refreshing your notifications because you want to get that short term feeling of happiness but it's never everlasting so we continue to post pictures and come consumed and obsessed with that short term feeling of approval. Think about this, our culture tells us not to settle Down with one person because satisfaction will be lost Or to do whatever makes you happy. Notice I said "happy" nobody ever says do whatever gives you joy. Happiness is something that can be taken from you. Joy is something that can never be taken away from you. Joy is everlasting and can only be found in seeking and resting in Christ. The reason society is never satisfied with how many likes they can get, how many girls they can sleep with, buying the latest pair of Jordan's that come out or even looking to a spouse or your children to make you happy is because none of those things were designed to fill that void in your heart. Think about it. If likes on a status, your spouse or things of this world could fill that void in a man or woman's heart everything would be perfect and their would be no need for A God. God designed us with a void that only he can fill. See, in this culture we worship creation instead of the one who created everything. If you do acknowledge that and agree with that last statement. What makes you think God can't fill that void in your heart? Repent, turn to him, let him carry your burdens, trust him and I guarantee he fills that void in your heart and you will experience joy you could have never imagined.

GODS PLAN

Before I get started I would love to thank The Lord for his grace, For his blessings, as well as the times that were hard not knowing that he was preparing me for another phase of my life. I'm certainly glad that I endured those times because it made me a better man. If I rewind back about three years ago anybody who really knows me understands and sees that I am I completely different person than I use to be. It's not because one day I decided to change who I was or become a "better person". It's was because of God's grace and mercy and the trials he put me through in the past. I can honestly say that if I wouldn't have gone through any of those things I would still be a "Boy". Luckily over the past 3 years God let me experience a lot of things that I thought I needed but in reality I didn't neither was it Gods will. He opened up my eyes to true manhood and what it means to follow Christ while at the same time being manly and imitating characteristics of Christ such as being compassionate, loving, selfless, giving, firm, showing emotion while at the same time not being passive and being frightened to speak up against what's right or wrong out of love. All of this brings me or what I really had on my mind. GODS PLAN. Before I go any further I just want to say there is nothing that you or anyone else can do to stop Gods plan. Yes, he's that awesome and let me tell you why. About 6 months ago I was going through a lot of things in my life. I'm past those things so I rather not talk about them. This was a dark time in my life if I can be completely honest and I lost sight for a moment. Around late march is when I started to regain my sight and fully trust in Christ. This was something I did on my own. No one knew how hard I was praying and how I was constantly in the word reading scripture. At this point is when I started feeling conviction for deliberately sinning against Christ and living for myself. At that point I understood how broken I was as a human and I needed Christ. I even had to cut ties with people I was close to in order to follow Christ. For you reading this that questions everything that's going on in your life right now even if you see no way out let me tell you first hand. DONT! Just keep trusting him and taking up your cross and following him daily! As soon as i treated him completely he sent me the greatest gift I've ever received in my life. He sent me Lyndsay Harris. Notice I said "sent" I didn't even pursue her. It just happened. I didn't have to DM her or go through a mutual friend to contact her. God orchestrated this and you can't tell me any different. We to this day can't explain how this happened but let me tell you this. I knew when I met her she was sent from God and he made her for me. I'm not going to sit here and tell you why because I would literally be here all day explaining why she's my soulmate. Not even exaggerating. The verse that best describes how I feel about Lyndsay is Proverbs 31:29-30 “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." What's so amazing is we've told each other our darkest secrets(which I won't share) and if we would have even met a year ago there is no way we would be together even if we both had been single. It's so amazing how God uses situations and people to shape and mold you so that one day he can use you for his glory! All of the things good and bad that I've been through in the past as well as following and attempting to imitate Christ everyday and realizing Gods love for us even though we fall short day in and day out makes it so much easier to Love & Lead Lyndsay. I say all of this to say if its Gods will it will happen. Man am I blessed!

"ITS BIGGER THAN US"(SECURITY)

This has been weighing heavy on my heart so I figured I would take some time out of my day to talk about security and how society impels us to partake in or buy things in order to make us feel secure or accepted by others. If we were so secure in ourselves like we claimed to be we wouldn't do half of the things that we do. Why do we defend ourselves even when we are wrong or even feel as if we always have something to prove or have one up on someone else? Why do we have to have the latest and greatest when it comes to material possessions? Now before I go any further I want to stop and say, there is nothing wrong at all with having nice things. Nothing wrong with having it and as a matter of fact I urge you to get it but if you find identity In it you might as well forget it. There is nothing wrong with having luxuries but if your looking for security or in it does that not make you insecure? If we're constantly trying to prove ourselves to others doesn't that scream insecurity? Society constantly tells us to partake in activities such as drugs, sexual impurity, and Vanity. These are things that you do when you feel insecure about yourself so you do these things to feel better about yourself. These things scream I'm insecure, just think about it. If you were so secure with yourself you wouldn't need any of these things to make you feel secure or better about yourself. I'm not by any means pointing any fingers because before Christ showered me with his grace and I found security in him I was the same way thinking I was secure in myself but in reality I was very insecure. When you trust in Christ and your secure in him you start to realize how insecure and broken you were. At this point in my life I'm so secure in Christ that I don't do or buy half of the things I use to. All of mankind apart from Christ is insecure and broken in some form or fashion from Adam & Eve up until now. Before I close I want to show you how insecure we've been every since Adam let Eve eat the forbidden fruit. Before Adam let eve eat the forbidden fruit they were completely naked. They were so secure in God that they didn't even realize they were naked. In Genesis 2:25 it states "And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed" at this point they were secure in God. It was not until after Eve ate the fruit and wronged God that they both became insecure. In Genesis 3:7 it states "Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made lioncloths" When they did this they entrusted in theirselves rather than trusting in God. Meaning if you in trust in anything else including yourself other than fully trusting in Christ you will be insecure in some form or fashion. So I pray that whoever is reading this will entrust in Christ and find security in him rather than security in worldly possessions or acceptance to others. IT'S BIGGER THAN US!

IT'S BIGGER THAN US

Think about it? The average life expectancy for a human being is 67.2 years and If you think about it that is a very long time. So between the time you are born until the time you take your very last breath there comes a time in everyone's life when they ask themselves, what is my purpose? A lot of people would say to make as much money as possible or to be successful(whatever they define as success). Now, there is nothing wrong with either of those things but if that is your primary or only focus then that would mean that you are living for self. Correct? If you spend 67.2 years living for yourself I would like to pose the question what happens when you take that last breath? Now some people don't believe in God but if you are a believer and you say you believe in God what happens when you stand before Christ? Will he say "Well Done" or "Depart from me I never knew you"? IT'S BIGGER THAN US!
