Happy birthday to my love @coachlyndsay I hope you have the best day ever! I love you Lyndsay!
I’ve been pondering this for the past couple of weeks. I think that now is a perfect time to speak on this topic because I feel it is very pertinent to the times that we live in today. I want to discuss how our culture is obsessed with how many intense adrenaline filled experiences one can...
HBD to Me, Thank You Lord
So today is my 24th birthday!! 😁 As much as I joke about turning 24 and being "old" I am beyond grateful to see 24. Every year that I make it to is a blessings and I know there are many people who didn't make it to see 24; there are many people that are here today that won't make it to see 24. God blessed us in so many ways and besides his greatest gift, sending his son, Jesus, to die for us, the second greatest gift is the gift of life. God woke us up this morning and didn't have to. I love old people, I really do. I admire them so much. They're like the chosen ones... God has blessed them over and over and over again. They get to experience love and joy and pain and fear. Good or bad, feeling something is better than feeling nothing at all. Being able to see your loved ones, talking to them, holding them, hugging them, kissing them, all blessings from God. But where would they be without Life. My life has been awesome! Truly amazing, the works he's done in my life. This life is not my own.. I just want to thank God for allowing me to have this life and that's why I don't want to waste it by doing things for my own selfish pleasure. I'm living this life for the Glory of God. Thank you Lord for letting me see 24! 🙌
The Word of God
Lately I've been pondering my love for the word of God. Don't get me wrong, I love the word of God, but I don't feel as if I am clinging to it the way the bibles says we should as Christians. I find myself wanting to read my bible at times, and other times, just not interested. Not that it has anything to do with the bible and what it says, but more so because I am tired, or I've had a long day. I've always felt that it was best for me not to read my bible if I simply didn't feel like it. I thought that this was smart because I never wanted the action of reading my bible to seems like a chore of Christianity that I was checking off my list. It wasn't until I came across an instagram post that I realized that the Word of God is relevant and important no matter how I am feeling. A woman named Carley, whom I met through my boyfriend, spoke on her experience (past and presnt) with the word of God. She spoke of how she thought going to church and reading her bible made her a Christian (as did I before I became saved). She then spoke on how much she loves the word of God. She said she makes time to read the word whenever she can, even when she doesn't feel like it. After reading that last statement, it made me think of how shallow I was being thinking the word of God could not move through me simply becasue I was too tired. The word of God is strength, it is energy, it is joy, it is peace! It is the very thing that I was looking for. The bible speaks on being weary. Galatians 6:9 tells us "Do not grow weary in your well doing, for in due time you shall reap what you sew." As I grow in Christ, I realize that this road gets harder and harder as I grow closer adn closer to God. Seems as if there are more temptations, trials, and worries to overcome. This is exactly why I must continue to cling to the word of God. It is my guideline, my resource, my survival kit for this world. So I say this to say that I am making a conscious effort to get into the word on a daily basis, and not just by reading the V.O.D. in my bible app. Now don't get me wrong, I dig into the word a lot, probably at least 5 days a week.. but it should be 7. With school and basketball starting back up, I really need to make a conscious effort to make time for God, as he does for me. Isn't God awesome! He is a most deserving God. There is not amount of praise that I could give that would be worthy enough for my Father, but that doesn't mean I can't give him my very best all the tie. And even if I'm not perfect, God will help me along the way. #PressOn

LOVE LOVE LOVE
Grateful
When I take a long hard look at my life, I always wonder why God has blessed me the way he has. I have had my share of hardships (who hasn't), however, I am blessed beyond measure. I am blessed in so many ways and I know I do not deserve any of them. The greatest gift that God has given to me is the gift of salvation. He has watched over and protected me when I was lost so that I could eventually stop playing with my life and give it over to him, COMPLETELY. When I was younger, you couldn't tell me that I wasn't a Christian. I grew up in the church, and when I say that, I'm not just being dramatic. My mother played the piano and was the choir director at TWO different churches. I was in every choir by default! I was in church at least 3/7 days a week. I was always one of the first ones there and always one of the last to leave. I went to every church function, every special occasion, etc. It wasn't until I got re-baptized in January of this year, that i realized that doing all those things does not make you a Christian. I had to take a good look at my life and ask myself was I truly committed to Christ? Had I abandoned my life and all the things of this world in order to take up my cross and follow him? NOPE! I was sinning and it had got to the point where I would sin and then try to justify it. I was chasing after things that were not right for me. I was running from the things God wanted for me. He didn't have to save me during that period of my life where I was lost. My life could have been taken at an instant. Once you're gone, you don't get a second change. I would have spend eternity in hell. What's even worse is that I wouldn't be spending eternity with my Lord and Savior. But he saved me, looked after me, and sought me as I sought him. Now, I am determined to live my life everyday in a way that is pleasing to God. I will promote and spread the gospel in any way I can. I want others to feel the same joy as I have. It's an unbelievable, indescribable feeling that could have only been given through Christ. He saved me and I am forever indebted to him. I will do his works and his will for the rest of my days! He is awesome!
One of the realist epiphany’s I’ve had about my walk with Christ happened about 3 months ago on April 24, 2014. Before I get to that, let me explain to you how God works. See, the very things in life that we fight for, spend our time, money, and energy for, can actually be given to us (in...
This has been weighing heavy on my heart so I figured I would take some time out of my day to talk about security and how society impels us to partake in or buy things in order to make us feel secure or accepted by others. If we were so secure in ourselves like we claimed to be we wouldn’t do half...
Luke 17:3-4 (NLT) So watch yourselves!
“If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”
