Hereâs some thoughts so far:
Genjiâs a dyed the wool delinquent. Heâll fight you, heâll fight your dog, heâll race your dog, heâll throw your dogâs bike in the river. Got seriously injured in an accident during a one-on-one race with Hanzo *cough*itwasnâtanaccident*cough*. Definitely has nerve damage, maybe some other type of damage too. Nicknamed âYosuzumeâ (night sparrow) for his noisy, cantankerous racing style, as compared to Hanzo. Has always been a crazy rider but definitely goes harder since the crash. Willing to do anything to get a chance to race the mysterious âIfritâ, including harrassing his only known associates, the Shambali Motorcycle club.
Zenyattaâs a gentle soul, but will still throw down for justice. Almost never races, but still has a reputation for his inhuman riding style. Supposedly he goes so fast because he saw something before a crash once and he just wants to get glimpses at it again. Might be something of a vigilante. Also the primary cause of the Shambaliâs nomadic lifestyle. People who donât know him personally know him only as âthe Ifritââthey say heâs called that because all you can see of him when he goes by is a dust cloud and light, but thatâs not even the half of it. Prefers to ride alone, mostly because people tend to get hurt if they try to keep up with him.
Mondattaâs head of the Shambali Motorcycle Club, but makes no effort to look or act the part. Mostly directs the charitable operations of the group, wrangles Zenyatta, and gardens. Apparently heâs seen the same thing Zenyattaâs always chasing but pursues it in healthier ways. In racing circles, heâs known for his calm, leisurely style, and the fact races where he participates are frequently not very interesting to watchâthough the reason why is not what people think. Puts on his leather jacket when he means business. Goes by many namesââthe tortoiseâ and âthe magicianâ are the most popular. Often has to deflect the inquiries of thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies looking to race with Zenyattaâincluding the likes of one Shimada Genji.Â
Hanzoâs a skilled racer who nevertheless treats other bikers with contempt. Rarely races since his fatherâs illness and death, which works out since heâs banned from participating in anything but private or Shimada sanctioned races. Never talks about Genjiâs accident, or what caused it. Was once known as âOkuri-Okamiâ (send-you-off wolf) because of his frightening, close-quarters style, and his ability to overtake competitorâs during split-second mistakes. In a constant state of âdealing with some thingsâ, mostly related to the Shimada family business and the strain of keeping it afloat.Â
