you know what? Yeah! YEAH! Simon isn’t a fighter by nature, his first instinct every single time is to freeze, or flee. He’s the guy who has to hype himself up to even try to incite real violence. The camera was an attempt at making them stop and listen to him, for him to NEGOTIATE. He’s a negotiator! He’s the guy doing breathing exercises and admitting that he was scared and he’s sorry for causing harm! That he wants to talk, and for people to listen to him! He’s the guy shaking in the corner holding a knife praying he won’t have to use it!

Simon isn’t unfamiliar with violence, or causing it, but by god is he so tired of having blood on his hands. He wants to wash it off. He wants to talk. Let him talk, DAMNIT!
