the 'easy' way out
Living in New York I have faced my fair share of problems. Emotionally, overall mentally, physically, from social life, dating, work life, to my education. But one thing that generally every single decision I have made or reasoning behind an issue has notably revolved around one main source, money.
I live in a city where money is flaunted carelessly. Luckily I have good friends with amazing connections and I often bounce from 'exclusive' clubs around the city with bottle service for not a single dime emerging from my pocket. It's amazing. However, it's sickening in the same aspect. Generally all clubs within New York City follow a trend and having a business oriented mindset forces me to focus in on it. I once overheard a man next to me on his way to a club I frequently go to say to his other friend, "let's go here, it's only 5k a table instead of 10k at (insert other club I go to all the time here)." I was blown away. These people truly are fooled. But are they? You buy into the image. Clubs within Manhattan and I'm assuming majority of the world are 80% promotional and 20% actual buyers. The promotional portion would be me, the young, tall, skinny girl and her girlfriends who appear naive, young, and fresh. We're upscalely offered on a platter for the buyers and are almost expected to put out as we are there for free. Do I disagree with this mentality? Not necessarily. I see the benefit of going to a venue such as these versus going to a strip club and going home with no one or buying a prostitute and not having a story line leading up to the sexual encounter.
I've been in the city now for about 5 months and my personal encounters within clubs has been quite interesting. I went through a slut phase where I once made out with 6 different guys in the matter of 2 hours in the same club. It was empowering, hilarious, and care free. I never regret a single thing I do. I will post a blog that goes more into detail I think of my sexual exploration and the ups and downs of it while being in the city, but trust me, it's been a roller coaster. Side note none of these men knew I was transgender nor have I ever approached a guy first, ever.
But with all of this being said, it's ironic. There has been times my bank account has had less than 10$ in it, yet here I was looking like a million dollars dancing with models and popping bottles. So glamorous. It is all a facade. I know and knew where I came from and never was attempting to 'fool' anyone. A guy I once was with didn't believe him when I said I came from nothing. He thought I was a typical upper east side wealth baby partying it up in the city, when in reality we all know I'm a little more complicated than that. I often walk the streets in my fur coat and heels as homeless people beg for money as I'm sure they assume I have money to be giving when in reality at that given moment my worth is more than likely even less than there's, I'm just better at putting myself together.
Most recently the even that has confirmed my level of brokeness has been me slaving away working for myself and being independent and my already on my shitless terrible uneducated piece of shit boss not paying me for my last two weeks of work while I started classes today. I haven't had food in two days. I have plenty of books to buy. Transportation for the job that doesn't pay me. I'm partially going insane. Yet I don't crack.
With all of this being said, I've been highly contemplating 'the easy way out'. I've dipped my feet in the 'sugar daddy / sugar baby' world but it hasn't been successful for me really as obviously I'm still struggling. But sometimes I can't help but think I truly don't deserve to live the way I nonchalantly do. I think my biggest personal issue is I'm terrible at accepting help from people. I'm also very well at downplaying the level of seriousness of how bad my life situations are and don't really talk to anyone so of course with the put together appearance and giddy personality people assume I'm fine, but I'm not.
One of my best friends is a gay for pay male escort. At first he talked down upon the idea of me ever entering at the field but the more he realized of my situation and the more he learned about my mindset the more he told me I should possibly take it into consideration. I'm a type of person that can have sex or make love. There's a defined boundary. Sex is an object to me. I don't find it a big deal. I can act as if it's intimate, but it can be worthless to me. That's probably the main reason why I think I could get away with escorting and keep my sanity. Obviously it's not an ideal field but when your options are limited it's kind of looking more ideal than dying off.
It's not a question of morals, just more do I want to take the 'easy' way out? It's certainly not easy as it is very draining of the soul to some, but as I said I think I'm a pretty strong minded person to the point I could . I've tried to low paying bitch work and it hasn't been very kind to me, obviously.
Sorry if this post has been rather 'dark'. I'm not looking for help or comfort. When I made this blog I promised myself I would share every aspect of my life if it was potentially beneficial to helping someone, that includes the ugly. So here it is.

i think it's time for some more tattoos!
when i first got my trio of tattoos a lot was going on within my life. I never for a second have ever regretted any of them! all of them have always accurately reflected how i view life, how proud I am of myself, and what I stand for. That was almost a year ago and I have developed a few more sketches and concepts that play off of that theme. I'm not one to ever spontaneous get something due to it solely being attractive or 'cool' looking so it's always a process for me to fully fall in love with a concept that is so deeply connected to me.
That being said New York certainly isn't cheap so that also has put a damper on my decision, but with time I'm definitely going to add a few more pieces. For explanation of the tattoos I currently have if you're new or don't remember and interested the link is here

another fairly recent :)
I'm (hopefully) back!
It's absolutely asinine to think I completely deserted a following that truly helped and watched me blossom into the person I am today without me even posting an update. I'm an extremely lazy person, but that's still uncalled for. A lot of people have reached out to me regarding different aspects such as where I went, how my life is going, and all the other issues of life so I feel fully obligated after putting myself in such a vulnerable place and putting out ALL my insecurities to continue to showcase and illustrate through writing in hopes of inspiring and even helping other people that have been in my situation or are coping with their self identity.
I AM NOW IN NEW YORK CITY: Yes I made it! It definitely wasn't nor continues to be an easy journey AT ALL. I got into my first choice dream college located in the heart of Manhattan! My senior year of high school was extremely irrelevant and actually ended with me doing a home studies program and graduating from my cosmetology school. Luckily the staff of my high school was on my side and strived to see me succeed so I didn't have a lot of problems. Walking up and achieving my diploma was a very enlightening yet eerie feeling as I floated along the people who have observed my life since I was 5 years old. It was a solid 'fuck you I'm out' when my name was called followed by me achieving a scholarship and my college of attendance being a great school in NYC as no one really from my hometown ever even ventures off within a 50 mile radius.
(naturally had to get a little raunchy with it, lol)
But yes! I moved! And the dating scene in new york city has been quite the experience let me tell you… I definitely will be doing multiple blog posts on it and maybe even into detail of the sexual portions of my life as I've been doing quite a bit of experimenting and settling into my new found lifestyle. Trust me, it's an interesting one.
As for hormones, I'm not impressed. Not much has changed but I'm almost certain it's solely due to the fact my doctor back home was so ignorant to the proper hormone levels and medicine to be giving me which is actually extremely frightening as I was putting this all into my body. I've been a bit hesitant to reach out to anyone yet here about it, partially once again due to my laziness, but also due to the possible cost. But I live my life very normally and I absolutely love it. I'm of course objectified and sexualized every so often when I inform people of the situation, but that's to be expected and generally women are to begin with.
I am now starting my spring semester here and struggling extremely financially but I'm fairly use to that, and I also work a lot. I work as a visual merchandiser of jewelry for a pretty great company and none of my employees are aware of me being transgender which I kind of love. I'm not necessarily hiding myself or ashamed of myself AT ALL, I would rather keep my personal life and avoid the common questionnaire from them and keep my environment strictly professional so I can stay focused and not worry about anything.
Overall life is going in the direction I've been wanting. It's been quite the ride, but I refuse to back down and I'm growing every day!
Life is a beautiful thing.
xx
ALMOST FORGOT: officially I go by Dakota within my life. It's established, done, signed, sealed, the end. I'm completely comfortable with it, it relatively plays off my birth name, and it's fairly unique and natural. I love it.
Some reason photos of me as well!
Thank you all who have been asking about me! Love you All.

absence
I've been not posting my usual text posts for awhile now, and I wish I could blame it on good reason but truly it's down to my laziness. So much has been going on in my life that I've yet to share it's almost unreal. I truly don't even know where one begins but I shall attempt.
My graduation for high school is approaching in the next few weeks, June 3rd to be exact! I'm extremely excited to get out but at the same time very nervous for one reason and one reason only, I'm not done. I've been doing an alternative home bound option which basically is me meeting with an advisor and taking a bunch of tests. The only problem is this isn't ideal at all and is actually relatively difficult. Especially because I started homebound halfway in between the class length so my teachers didn't water down the classes very much so it's everything I would normally be doing only 5 days a week is judged on 2 hours a week.. Not fun.
I finally decided and confirmed on college, I'm moving to New York this fall and am going to the Fashion Institute of Technology! I'm very happy and almost relieved I finally just decided. New York is the most ideal for me as well. The main factor that was making me question my decision was financial reasons, but I decided that wasn't a good enough reason to limit myself for something I know I would regret for the rest of my life.
Another big college issue I have been dealing with was the entire room & board situation.. Luckily I contacted the right people who directed me to the right people to help me before I awkwardly got to the school. I wasn't really sure exactly how colleges handled situations like this so I didn't know what to expect and still am a little confused. Basically I had to fill out a paper with the proper 'coding' for my 'issue' that needed special accommodations to submit to the head office. I'm still waiting to hear back but from what I heard of what they do in the past I'll probably be rooming with females. (hopefully) Honestly I wouldn't even mind rooming with males, but my main concern is having a private bathroom within the room I have and before that's not the arrangement I had.. So for whoever who may be going through a similar situation just be very upfront about exactly what your issue is and exactly what you expect and they should help you. Then again I'm going to a fashion school in New York City so I suppose it's to be more accepted there and your school may still be ignorant to the idea but overall it's your money and education and they want you to be comfortable. (usually)
With hormones, I'm kind of annoyed. I'm on an extremely low dose due to my doctor being very 'traditional' about how she handles hormone replacement therapy. The nurse practitioner below her is the one who meets with me and wants to boost me up rapidly, but the issue is she has to meet with the doctor and she doesn't believe in that method.. I've been taking hormones now for a little over 2 months and have noticed a few tiny little things but nothing that really that sticks out. I now have the relative 'foundation' for my breasts but still very flat.. Summer is coming up, not a good mixture. I'm investing in small silicone inserts in the meantime because I feel awkward wearing anything revealing of the area..
A few other changes have happened and been going on but I think I'll save those for full blog posts alone.. Thank you to all of you who still follow this blog even though it mainly has been my lame Instagram feed! I really do appreciate it and love you all dearly.
