Well, I am a doctor, so it’s something I enjoy seeing. But I probably shouldn’t do so because I don’t want it to scar. So that’s probably the last you’ll hear of that. I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not. If you really can read minds, then how about telling me what I was up to last night? [She may or may not have been thinking how last night she had been at a bar and eyeing a few of the customers. Obviously off school grounds so if she wasn’t being truthful, she wouldn’t know.] So, what am I thinking, hot shot?
That makes it seem a little more normal, but still gross. I’m pretty good at being sarcastic, but I wasn’t trying to be. She giggled a little. I can try, but it’s hard because I can hear everyone’s at once. It’s kind of hard to pick one out, but I can try. Cass closed her eyes and concentrated, scrunching up her face as she listened. Okay, you’re either hoping we have tacos for dinner, thinking about breaking a window, or something about a bar? Hm. I didn’t think doctors were supposed to drink. The instant she opened her eyes a dull ache made its way into her head, and she rubbed her temples gently.
Gross to some, a passion for others. Or at least a job. I try not to do it because I don't want to scar. [Clearing her throat, she linked her hands behind her back as she listened] It's alright, take your time. Focus. [Andrea didn't doubt anything in this world anymore, so being able to read thoughts was something she believed it could happen. She did hit the nail on the head though and she laughed quietly to herself] Impressive. And we can drink, we just don't overdo it. Keep it in moderation. What is your name? I don't think I've met you yet. Are you new here?
I’m 33 years old, and I still pick at scabs because I like to see how the body works to send platelets to that injured area to stop the bleeding with clotting. Once a geek, always a geek.
I’m 19 and that’s really disgusting. Did you have to share that? Not like it matters. I would’ve heard you thinking about it anyway.

I don’t see why not. It would be a great chance to socialize. It would be supervised of course, but I do like that idea.
It would be amazing, it would be nice to meet up with people that I haven’t met before.
This really is a great idea. I'll speak to some of the other staff and try to get something arranged.
There’s still several of you that I haven’t met, so I figured I might do a little Q&A with everyone. I’m Dr. Marks, but you can call me Andrea if you’d like. I’m the head of medicine here and resident doctor. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m an open book.
Andrea, huh? Getting a little personal.. I do have a question, actually; why the hell are you wasting your time here?
Some people don't like formalities so whatever they're comfortable with. And to answer your question, I don't feel that I'm wasting my time. I'm here to try and help those in need of help.

What kind of Q&A?
Just anything you're curious about. What I do here, why. That sort of thing.
Yes of course. Whatever you’d like to know and then we can discuss whatever you need to tell me.
I was just wondering if there are going to be some social events for the patients?

Dr. Marks! I was looking for you. I have something to tell you, but I’m happy to take part in this Q&A thing beforehand.

Why do you throw your title around every where like it is supposed to make people respect you more and why do you keep making it sound like you are the only doctor here when there are two other doctor's as well?
Because I worked my ass off in medical school to get a doctorate so I’m going to introduce myself as a doctor. It’s a huge accomplishment. It's my title here so I'm going to introduce myself as such. And I am more than aware Dr. House works here as well. I’m stating that I’m in charge of what goes on medically here so that if anyone needs any assistance or help, they know I’m someone they can speak with. As far as I’m concerned Dr. House and myself are the only doctors on paper that work here.

Don’t you worry, don’t you worry child
See heaven’s got a plan for you…
Yes! We do indeed. I know it seems odd. Sometimes I ask myself the same. But I do try and make a time for non doctor stuff. Football can be scary though. The physical contact does make me cringe sometimes. It’s such a physical sport.
I remember seeing a guy’s foot break and turn all the way around once… I think I vomited. But, he did get a touchdown. Ever since then, I’d rather watch ping pong or something.
Yes, indeed a nasty break. Compound fracture most likely. Surgery needed. It can be a brutal sport. I happen to love ping pong and am pretty good.
I could go for some nice summer weather right now. It sounds very nice. Much nicer than this cold. And I don’t really root for a single team, I just like watching it! Lots of fun.
I could too. Even when I was alive, it wasn’t this cold. There used to be only four teams. Harvard, Yale, and two others I don’t quite remember the names of.
Oh wow. That was quite a long time ago! What year did you pass? Just so I know what decade we're speaking of.
