Can you: #1, Not refer to bi and trans characters as "gays"? #2, not talk about "shitty het replacement ships" when bisexuals are involved?
I apologise if you got offended, I have no issues with part of the LGBTQ+ community and i was just ranting from my own personal point of view. As a gay female myself, I tend to loosely use the term âgaysâ for the whole community.
I also used the phrase, âshitty het replacement shipsâ not to offend the bi community, it was simply aimed at shows where they kill off the main gay ship and replace it with another both het couple completely as the main ship. I know this isnât always the case such as in the 100 where Clarke has a new ship.Â
No offence was to be taken in the post and i apologise for any misinterpretations.

Lifestyle choice? Nope. Stop killing us Gays already....
You know what would be really cool and shocking to the community and world? IF THAT ONE GAY CHARACTER FROM BASICALLY ANY MOVIE/FILM EVER WOULDâNT BE KILLED OFF!!!
Like we are all use to it now, it doesnât have the shock factor. You put in a gay character to be diverse in your program yet you kill them off or their love interest when it starts gathering up a massive ass fanbase. Like bruh, I donât want to see your shitty little hetero ship replacement. I will forever ship Clexa, I miss Emaya (but Emison was still endgame), My heart was almost broken for Sara Lance, Yorkie and Kelly died together.. like one death wasnât enough.. (but they did have a cute ending) The list goes on and on.. I mean we all cried when Larry, the only confirmed gay dude on Buffy was killed off.. like come on man. My little gay soul canât take any more heart break. Also itâs 2k17, almost (not really) 2k18, like why dafaq are their still people who think being LGBTQ+ is a lifestyle choice??Â
Like dude, being veggie is a lifestyle choice, sleeping in your socks is a lifestyle choice. Going to a Zumba class at 6am before your day is a lifestyle choice. But being Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Trans, Queer, whatever label you go by is NOT a lifestyle choice. Anyone who even tries to tell you that it is needs to actually be educated on a community of people who matter!!
Peace Out,

Trying to drop subtle hints that youâre queer around new people, but usually just ends up like
My dear lgbt+ kids,Â
Sometimes, people have ideas that sound so lgbt+-friendly! - and are in fact the opposite of helpful for lgbt+ people.Â
An example for this is âIntroducing yourself with your gender will make it easier for trans and nonbinary people to come out, if everyone is doing it! So, everyone should put their whole label in their blog description! And of course you canât just write âgirlâ, you need to disclose whether you are a cis or trans girl, come on, we are trying to be trans-friendly here. Iâll start by putting a big fat CIS in my description.â.Â
While that idea surely sounds good, it actually doesnât help. It may even cause more harm than good.Â
- It supports the harmful mindset that trans girls are not real girls. How so? By separating them from the word âgirlsâ. A trans girl is simply that: A girl. She doesnât need to add the word trans every time she introduces herself. âGirlâ is enough because thatâs what she is! Demanding her to call herself trans girl instead of simply girl makes it sound as if thereâs a difference between girls and trans girls.. And there isnât. Theyâre all girls.Â
- Some people canât safely disclose their whole label to the internet or to everyone they meet.Â
-Â It can lead to people feeling entitled to know someone elseâs label. That feeling of entitlement could literally endanger people (see last point).Â
- Some people feel uncomfortable disclosing their whole label to the internet or to everyone they meet. This idea could encourage people to shame lgbt+ people who are not âout & proud & loudâ (accusing them of being fake or ashamed etc.).Â
- While that may be well-meant,âCis lesbian blog by a cis lesbian!â as a blog description sounds suspiciously like âTrans lesbians are not welcome hereâ or âTrans lesbians are not real lesbians to this bloggerâ and does not make me feel safer. The opposite actually: It makes me question why you feel the need to point out youâre cis, perhaps youâre transphobic?Â
But, of course, people who believe that idea is a great idea are usually not the devil in person. They want to help and thatâs great - but help without listening to input from the one you try to help simply doesnât work.Â
If you notice such well-intentioned but harmful ideas, do not be afraid to speak out if you safely can do so. Youâre not being âungratefulâ or âgreedyâ or âtry to make it all about youâ - Lgbt+ support should be about you, not about making straight, cis people feel good about themselves. Â
With all my love,Â
Your Tumblr MomÂ
