First of all, I encountered your blog about 4 or 5 years ago and it introduced me to Bellamione so thank you for being my introduction to my favorite toxic lesbians. I was just wondering what your personal experience with Bellamione is. When did you start shipping them? Why do you ship them?
Sorry if you've already talked about this, I was just curious.
Welcome to the cult of Bellamione!
I'm glad to see another member.
I got into the ship back in 2016/2017 because one of my favorite authors for another fandom wrote a fic for them and I clicked on it out of curiosity. It was well written and I enjoyed the way the dynamic had this push-pull. You could never be certain what would happen when Hermione and Bellatrix interacted and it was entertaining to read. It was also gratifying to see Bellatrix soften up for Hermione and care for her despite everything.
Two specific scenes live rent free in my mind simply because of how everything leads up to them and beautifully delivers that emotional impact.
I'll mention them here, but use italics in case you'd like to skip over them if you haven't read the scenes/fics with them.
The scene from Those Gilded Chains when Bellatrix thinks Hermione is going to leave her for Ron and states "He doesn't love you like I do" or the scene from No Good Deed when Bellatrix saves Hermione from danger and has her blood all over her and Narcissa calls her out on how she doesn't care she has 'mudblood' blood on her.
Bellamione fics have been some of the most wonderfully written fics I have read; the authors care so much and you can tell by the quality they put into their works.
Additionally, I love enemies to lovers and their dynamic is extremely that. It promises to be that trope and it fully commits to it, without pulling any punches. I especially appreciate that, since a lot of published enemies to lovers books fail to actually capitalize on that enemies aspect.
But on a simpler note: evil women hot
