hi, hello! it’s bibian (21+) and i’m here to introduce a completely new character of mine, kang yubin! despite her introverted nature, she’s a dedicated lime entertainment wannabe who is dreaming of making it big. while she may not have any natural idol charisma, she’s willing to fake it to make it! while she’s a bit of a stick in the mud, spending all of her time studying or going to work as an english tutor, trying to become an idol trainee will certainly be a change of pace for this homebody, and i’m excited to see all that will happen!
i’d love to plot with everyone, so if you don’t mind me leaving you a message, please give this post a like! and you’re always welcome to drop me a line as well! ♡

living off a busy schedule is just how yubin functions. every day after finishing up her own university classes, she works as an english tutor to elementary school kids. that’s where she goes by the name maria.
despite her upbeat energy and attitude with the children, when it comes to interacting with people her own age, she just doesn’t know how. there probably weren’t enough books that she could read that would make face-to-face interactions with her peers any less awkward.
a naturally gifted singer, yubin is determined to become an idol trainee to make her grandmother proud. she wants to become someone. she doesn’t want to only be known as plain old kang yubin.
after having been bullied in high school, she tends not to react well to confrontation. she would rather avoid the problem than address it.
still living in her university’s dorm, she tends to keep to herself and only really goes out to get food or any materials that she may need for her classes with the kids.
as soon as she had shown up late to her literature class that morning, yubin should’ve known that it was going to be a painful day. it wasn’t as though she had been publicly called out and reprimanded by her professor, but she might as well have been. having to walk into the classroom while all of the other students were already seated and attentively listening to their instructor and all of their eyes slowly moving onto her— she wanted to die right then and there. but with god seemingly having other plans, she was forced to awkwardly make her way to an empty seat as quickly as she could manage.
such a simple mistake, one that everyone else in the class had probably already forgotten about, was still haunting her hours later. she had managed to make it through her own class without yelling at any children, at least. she only had to fake a dozen smiles before all of the elementary school kids were leaving for the day. she hastily packed up her belongings and walked with a sense of urgency towards the exit. she didn’t have any big plans to get home to. it wasn’t as though someone was waiting for her there. all she wanted to do was sulk alone in the comfort of her room.
but that would be too easy, wouldn’t it? such a day that started on a sour note had to go out with a bang. in other words, another minor inconvenience that yubin would turn into a big deal. as she walked down the crowded sidewalk, it was somewhat difficult to navigate through the swarms of people. she suddenly thought back to the bible story of moses, and how he was able to part the red sea. yubin wished that she had the same powers. then maybe she’d be able to create a path in this mess of people. perhaps too caught up in her own fantasies, she ends up slightly bumping shoulders with an individual walking the opposite direction. whose fault had it been? they were probably both to blame, but she hadn’t appreciated the premature reminder of the real world. pausing in place, she glances over her shoulder at the stranger before scrunching up her nose. “i guess that nobody says excuse me anymore?”
yubin was starting to question her priorities. though there wasn’t anything outwardly sketchy about the small study room that she had found herself in, the individual who shared the space with her made her somewhat uneasy. while seoul national university was a place that she grew to feel safe in, some of the people there just rubbed her the wrong way. was there any reason in particular? probably none that were justified. ironically enough, the girl who was terrified of being judged by others loved to quietly eye her own peers up and down with a questioning look. had you bothered looking in the mirror before leaving the house this morning? how could such an unkept individual be a student at such a prestigious school? you looked like the type to sleep through your alarm clock on the day of the entrance exams.
awkwardly adjusting the dictionary and textbook that she had carefully placed on the table in front of her, yubin cleared her throat. had she been staring at you this whole time? there was something about you that just demanded attention. like how people loved to gawk at car wrecks. had she been too desperate for extra cash when reaching out to you? but how could she resist? it wasn’t often that a fellow student was offering to pay for some quick english translations. so, here she was, sharing a room with a strange. if only her grandmother could see her now.
“so, did you come prepared?” she questions, unable to shake off her uneasiness. she was scared to make any sudden movements, as if the slightest shift of the table would send you crashing to the floor. what was it about you that seemed so unsteady? was it because you looked like you hadn’t had a decent night’s sleep in all your life? “you didn’t come all this way without your notes, did you?”
