“Are you a Gem too? I’ve never seen another guy Gem before! Where is yours? Mine’s on my tummy. – – Oh, what, I never told you–! I’m Steven, what’s your name?”

“A Gem?”

Bolin gave Steven a weird look, not quite sure understanding what he meant. “Your tummy. Y-you have a gem on your tummy...? But... you asked if I was a Gem? What does that even mean?” He cleared his throat, “Um, I’m Bolin.”

Steven doesn’t even reply. He’s still in shock over the whole “he can lift a rock all by himself” thing to even realize it nearly beamed him square in the jaw.

“Wooooah… How’d you do that? That’s so cool!”

Bolin gawked at the younger boy, a look of confusion sweeping across his face. But it soon vanished and he gave him a grin.

“You aren’t from Republic City, are you? That’s the only explanation as to why you’re asking about my bending! Hmm... how to explain it though...” He knelt down so that he was at eye-level with Steven, “I’m... not a normal guy. I can do that with rocks and stuff. I was kinda born with that ability.”
