âi think iâll enjoy it here too, not gonna lie.â bo admits, nodding his head. although he didnât know many people at frostford, bo was just happy he wasnât in new york any longer, dealing with what he had to deal with. âi feel that. my real nameâs bobby.. â donât know why my mom cursed me with that one. sometimes i think about legally getting my named changed to bo.â he jokes, soft smile playing on his features.
âgood. i canât tell you the last time i had met someone who came here and didnât actually thoroughly enjoy it? thatâs how amazing frostford just is. i donât know if itâs the location, but i know it definitely has something to do with the southern hospitality that you receive here.â he explained to the man in front of him. âwell i guess we are cursed with horrible names, but are lucky enough to have nice nicknames that we are actually happy with.â he explained. âi thought about the same thing, well obviously not bo.â he laughed, âbut you know what i mean is it even worth it? it doesnât matter whatâs on the birth certificate!â

âHi! Welcome to Buttons and Bows!â Blue chirped from where she sat, surrounded by boxes on the floor, a stack of folded blouses next to her. âAre you here for the sale, alterations, or the speakeasy in the back?â
benji couldnât help himself when he saw a sale sign. it could be for a store that he didnât need anything from, but he had no problem justifying spending money on something that was on sale. âuhm well iâm not really here for anything, but i did see that there was a sale going on and iâm just terrible and i canât help myself.â he mentioned to her as he smirked softly while a soft chuckle escaped from his lips.

In retrospective, Brooke had a lot to be grateful for. She had a great job, great friends, and she was a semi-stable, healthy human being. So what if she had no love interests, family, and only a strange gray cat to go home to at the end of the night? Things could be worse, at least thatâs what she was telling herself. And theyâd be a hell of a lot better once she had some alcohol in her system. Finding a seat at the bar, the place seemed quieter than usual, odd considering it was a Friday night. âA Long Island, please. Itâs been one of those weeks.â She spoke to one of the bartenders, shrugging her jacket off of her shoulders, draping it over the back of the seat.
benji wasnât one to drink his sorrows away about things that were technically out of his control. even though he had worked for busy beeâs for the last eight years or so of his life, he just felt like he was going nowhere. he really did like his job and he wanted to be there, but he also felt like he wasnât being appreciated there and that maybe it was time to leave the place. maybe it was truly time for him to move on so that he could be appreciated somewhere else. he had always tried for the manager positions and nothing seemed to work out. he had found himself at the watering can just to let some nerves calm down and while he was sitting on the stool, he had heard someone ordering a long island and he nodded slowly. âmaybe i should be drinking one of those. i heard they get you turnt as hell and i feel like i could use one of those honestly.â he laughed a bit while looking at her. âsorry if it seemed like i was butting in, but like i said, that just sounds enticing in this moment, honestly.â
fitz-davenportâ:
âHey thanks!â He said excitedly. He tried to work out and eat right but he definitely had a weakness for wings and beer. His excitement slowly worked its way back to confusion. âSexual innuendo? What could be sexual about working on pipes?â He stood there silently, taking a big longer to figure out where Benji was going with his wording. âOh, you mean likeâŠoh.â Fitz got quiet after realizing what was going on. âIâmâŠflattered, but Iâm not like-I donât-Iâm not into that? I donât know how to say it and not sound rude. Like, Iâll take it as a compliment? Thanks for thinking Iâm good-looking enough? This is getting weird. Iâll just stop talking now.â
âyouâre most certainly welcome.â benji beamed as he looked at the man who had basically just saved his life with fixing the plumbing issues that were going on under his sink. he couldnât believe he had to call someone but it was better than actually fixing the problem himself. he was not crafty at all and he knew that he should be better especially since he owned his own home, but it was something that was going to come with time obviously. âoh my gosh, it was mostly meant as a joke.â benji blushed softly as he realized he had made a fool out of himself in front of this gentleman. âyeah, no i think we should just really take this opportunity to just stop with all of this and we can talk about something else, honestly.â he explained to him benji just shook his head slowly.Â
alinamcdowellâ:
âYeah? You grow up here? Iâve been away for a bit and Iâm learning my memoryâs turninâ out to be quite spotty.â She asks before shrugging at his disagreement. âIâm not saying they donât deserve to be impressed. Iâm saying theyâre simple enough that it isnât really necessary.â
âyeah, born and raised in good ol frostford. i loved it here way too much to try and leave. everyone else in my family has left, but i didnât really want to.â he explained to her as he shrugged his shoulders softly. âtheyâre simple?â he questioned with a slight raise in his eyebrow. âi would say women are a lot of things, but simple is not one word that i would use to describe them.â he explained.Â
owenheineâ:
âSeems you already know more than I do,â Owen said with a short laugh, his tone somewhere inbetween a joke and a statement. If he had happened to stumble across the mess sprawled across his lawn, he would have assumed it had been taken apart rather than being assembled. âIâm goinâ by the instructions word for word and still it doesnât seem to want to cooperate.â
âoh really? because i know that i donât know too much about it so i feel like it is not even possible to know less than what i know about it.â he replied with the same kind of laugh corresponding back to owen. âare you sure that you are putting the pieces together? because iâm not too sure you are because clearly something isnât working here seeing as it isnât even put together.â he teased the male. âi can try reading these instructions for you if that helps.â
gingersnapbakesâ:
Stephanâs lips quirked in amusement as he listened. The resume that he was given hardly gave him much to go on but then again when he started, he didnât have anything to go on either. âTell you what,â he started in a drawl, âif you have the time then Iâd love for you to come with me in the back. Whip me up something from scratch without any assistance, bake it, decorate it and weâll go from there. How about that?â It wasnât really strange of him to ask anyone of that but there was some part of him that wanted to test the man in front of him for some reason. Call it amusement or just plain curiosity or just the need to get away from the customers out front. Either way, it would at least be an hour away from the front which he desperately needed.
âyeah, sure. iâm not on any sort of a schedule today.â he explained to him as he smirked softly and nodded. âwhat is it exactly that youâll be looking for baked good wise? is there anything specific that you are going to want? because like i mentioned, i did not have a ton of baking skills really. i have been taking some baking classes so i have gotten better.â he mentioned to the guy who would potentially be his boss if he were to be offered the position and accept it. âi will definitely put my best effort in it, i promise.â he mentioned to him as he shrugged his shoulders. he actually was a little nervous about the whole thing seeing as he had never done anything like this before because he never had a job like this. but he definitely would put his best foot forward so that he could try and prove that he wanted the job. âi am ready whenever you are, just let me know what i need to make.â
josieedwardsâ:
Josie laughed at the survival-of-the-fittest notion. Only one of them was old enough for etiquette classes, so overall they still probably had some fighting spirit between them. âI guess they do have to learn at some point.â
âI do, but Iâm not really sure any of it really helps. I know they prefer apple pie to other kinds. I know if you play any song from Frozen they will not stop singing it the rest of the night. And I know that the youngest will parrot anything his dad says about football, but he doesnât actually know what heâs saying.â It was so cute and so, so unintelligible sometimes.
âSo based on that, what do you think they are? Cupcakes kids or cookie kids?â
âexactly. i mean i donât really know how old they are so maybe that might not be the best option.â he mentioned to the female as he smirked softly. âoh so maybe they have the apple things that are looking like they could be the blue color of elsa. i donât know. if only you had enough time before so that you could try and do it yourself, or place an order for that.â he suggested, smiling softly. âiâm going to have to go with cupcake kids. i feel like those are the best. i have had this apple pie kind of cupcake with fireball or something soaking into it, but obviously youâll be forced to leave that out.â he giggled a bit.Â
josieedwardsâ:
âWith whatever I choose, I am trying to buy the love of my sisterâs children with sugar. They have a ton of aunts and uncles, so itâs a real competition to be the favourite.â Besides the gaggle of them on her side, and that really was the best word for it, the man her sister married came from a large family as well.
âIâm trying to keep it to one thing, that way theyâre not fighting over who gets what if there is a clear favourite,â she laughed. âI want to incite love, not a child-riot.â There was always the possibility, even if she just stuck with cookies or cupcakes, that a fun-sized riot would break out. What if there was one flavour, unknown to her, that was the holy grail of flavours? But mixing up flavours was a risk she was going to have to take in order to avoid being branded boring.
âi feel like if you get anything with sugar in it and not with any fruit then you are all set. i bet they will be loving you before the food is even settled in their stomachs!â he explained as he laughed softly. âoh well that makes sense. if you do that then you donât have to worry about it really if you get the same thing. that makes sense.â he nodded slowly while looking at her. âsometimes they have to understand that itâs the battle of the fittest.â he explained and teased her a bit, âi donât want to spread violence but, hey they are going to have to learn it eventually. fight for what they need.â he explained and smirk a bit. âdo you know what kind of things they tend to like?â he questioned her.Â
izakrxseâ:
Izak would just kiss the pout off his face, however, all he did was reply âThat is ridiculous. You look great.â, with a genuine smile on his face. âI mean, there is a point to be made that being nasty is a way to get things done. At least in my last job, do you know how many moms have yelled at me and Iâve just done what they wanted to get them off my back?â He said with a small laugh, shrugging as the dance studio back home was definitely a different reality to what he had been living in Frostford so far. âI would be offended at the fact you didnât argue that Iâm not an idiot, but Iâll let it slide because of the compliment.â He said with a small chuckle.
âyou can lie to me all you want, but i donât think i am ever going to believe you.â he mostly joked with izak as he looked at him and nodded. âwell if they start being nasty with you first then i think you have the right to yell back at them because they started it. no, it might not be the best thing option that there is but, sometimes you have to defend yourself and whatnot, ya know?â he spoke softly to him as he nodded a bit, just thinking about it to himself. like what he wouldâve done in that situation if it were benji himself that had to deal with it. âwell i mean if you are going to call yourself an idiot, so i feel like the kind thing to do was to agree with you instead. it would be rude of me to not agree with you.â he mentioned to izak as he giggled and acted a bit innocent for calling him an idiot.
izakrxseâ:
Izak couldnât help but smile at his friendâs comment. âHey, donât be so hard on the outfit, you look pretty darn cute.â He commented, being fully earnest with him. Although, from the amount of times Izak had seen Benji around, he would just assume heâs cute all together, no matter what he wears. âShe even survived the trip. Sheâs a trooper.â He said with a small laugh. âYou are pretty cool, yeah. And I think Iâve been able to meet some people around. The kids at work are lovely, not many shitty parents. I was definitely ready to deal with that.â He said with a small shrug. âHowâs your day been? Too many idiots like me running around?â He asked playfully.
âlisten, there are much better things that i could be wearing, honestly. i feel like this just makes me look a little plump.â he pouted a bit as he looked at him, but he couldnât help but smile again at the bright face that was looking back at him. benji couldnât help but reflect the smile back and just give the same radiant energy back to the other that he was receiving. âyou should be proud of her so.â he replied. âsee? the parents are actually pretty chill because most people donât see being nasty as a way of getting things done because they realize it doesnât actually work. most people here are amazing and kind, and just donât see that way of things working for them.â he mentioned as he rubbed the back of his neck. âoh yeah totally, but i do have to say. youâre the hottest idiot iâve seen running around here today.â he flirted as he flashed another smile towards izak.
izakrxseâ:
Izak was lucky enough that his school hours today were short, so he decided to make a little trip around town and walk around for a bit. Coincidence struck that he just happened to walk in front of Busy Beeâs. Itâs not like he was looking for an excuse to see Benji. Thatâs ridiculous, the guy lives right in front of me were his thoughts, contradicting with the fact he was standing in like, with some purple roses in hand. âWell hello there, fancy seeing you here.â He teased, a smile gracing his face as soon as he came into sight. âHey, for her size, she packs quite a bit in there, first of all. And yes, couldnât have done it if I didnât have some amazing neighbor help me.â He commented playfully.
âyeah, and donât mind this stupid outfit that i have to wear when i am here when i work.â he reminded him as he looked down at his outfit and just shook his head slowly. he then made his gaze back up to the other and that smile. it was something to die for and benji just wanted to kiss those cute, slick lips that were planted on his new friend. âi know she does. i canât believe she was able to hold all of that but iâm pretty proud of her.â he laughed softly as he smiled a bit and just giggled a bit. âi know, iâm pretty amazing.â he said a little dramatically as he laughed a bit. âwhat have you been up to? have you been enjoying the town lately? iâm assuming you have had the chance to meet all the people in town.â he mentioned.
@scottiezygoâ
benji was so excited that he had his sister back in town and the first thing he did was invite her over for dinner. of course, he had ordered some takeout for them so they didnât have to endure benjiâs horrible cooking. he had the doors open with the screens closed so that bear couldnât get out, and the windows were open as well so that he could get some fresh air going through the house. he couldnât help but feel pride about how the fact that his moms had left him to take care of their house. the fact that he was twenty-five years old and owned a house blew his mind really. he never really knew though if his siblings had thought that he wasnât deserving of it or were jealous that they had left it to him. hearing the door open and the way bear took off to the door to greet his sister, benji wasnât far behind bear and he smiled wide as he wrapped his arms around his sister. âhey! how have ya been sis?!â he replied to her as let go of her eventually and then backed up a bit. âi baked dessert, but donât worry. i got take out for dinner because i know my cooking is horrible.â
@izakrxseâ
the day just seemed like it was dragging and he couldnât wait until the clock struck four so that he could get out of busy beeâs florist and just enjoy his night. they had been busy during the day and things seemed to calm down a bit so that they could restock some things and get prepared for the next wave of things. after helping the customer that was at the counter, he noticed the person behind them while they walked away with their flowers and he smiled wide. âhey there, neighbor! how are you doing?â he asked him as he looked at him and beamed a bit. when izak had moved into town, he had gotten used to seeing him all of the time and it was still just as nice that he was seeing him right now. âare you finally all settled into your house? you had quite a bit of stuff in your little car there when you moved in.â he teased him.Â
rory-reillyâ:
Rory smiled sweetly, feeling a bit speechless. He hummed in response, swiping some of his loose curls away from his eyes. âHey, Iâve got nothing âcept for who I am. I just try to be the most me I can, âcause thereâs nothing else I can really do, right?â He chuckles, picking at some of the grass around him. âYou gotta listen to Kacey Musgraves. Maggie Rogers, too. And then, I mean. The classics! Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Joni Mitchell. I could literally give suggestions for hours on end.â
âright, makes sense you canât do much else but i donât think you should even if you could.â he mentioned to him as he offered him a genuine, soft smile. âi donât know, i donât listen to a lot of that stuff, but you might have inspired me to actually try it.â he mentioned as he smirked softly. âmaybe once time we can just hang out and listen to all of this music that you want me to.â he suggested. benji wouldnât mind hanging out with rory in a more private setting if he was being honest with himself. just hanging out and listening to music sounded like a good idea to him.Â
alinamcdowellâ:
âOh, honesty is the best policy. Scoutâs honor.â Was she a girl scout? No. However, Alina did value honesty, and its often lack in the town had once been a factor in driving her out of it. âOr just flirt with men at the bar. Men donât need to be impressed.â
âit really is. my moms raised me well to really believe that.â if benji were being honest, it was incredibly hard for him to lie to anyone. it just wasnât who he was and it wasnât what he did. âsee, thatâs the weird thing. i like to think that men should be impressed as well. why are women the only ones who need to be impressed? i think impressing a guy should be a goal as well.â he mentioned.Â
